@unkinglyhalf Wasn't arguing that, I meant pretending like the only sexual violence that happens in the story is against women is not true and is equally traumatic when it happens to Guts. IMO all of those moments are taken very seriously by the story so the word "gratuitous" seem ill applied.

@wormy84120 you're trying to argue that the violence against women in berserk is fairly weighted, but it isnt. it IS gratuitous and it is disrespectful, casca's rape is used to remove her autonomy as a character. so just acknowledge that while enjoying the story instead of being dumb abt it

and guts gets way more sympathy from the audience, and dignity from the narrative for getting raped as a child than casca ever does. everything is about him and his problems. just a selfish uke and his selfish narrative

@unkinglyhalf I agree that Guts can be selfish but that seems like an intentional character flaw written into the story that he grows out of, if he was this perfect person from the beginning who never makes mistakes then theres really no point to anything.
