I mean I agree completely but if he ever gets a P5 job, he's going to put 6-8 buy games (against mostly sub-250 competition), a MTE, and ~3 P5 games on the schedule like all the rest of them do.

That being said, the gap in the efficiency metrics widening over the last 2-3 seasons is concerning. People bring up chaos in 2023 which was during this era but the top teams have soared in KenPom/Torvik these last 2 seasons in particular.

I mostly tune out of CBB unless it's a year where USM stumbles into a #115 rank in KenPom and I know the narrative is The Upset is in peril due to mids having rosters raided + P5s having 25 y/o that'd be in Europe pre-NIL. But just looking at the bracket, I could see some upsets.

The committee putting Miami (OH) in is like when this SCOTUS rejects something crazy like the independent state legislature theory. Deep down they kinda want to do it but they know if they left them out it'd threaten their legitimacy among the public.

It's beyond the admin at this point. McClain was able to fire a MBB coach at Troy then made a great hire with Scott Cross.
There's some kind of generational institutional inertia at both the university and in Hattiesburg that prevents us from doing anything even slightly bold.
