Would have been my girl’s 50th birthday today. For the first birthday since she’s been gone, I woke up smiling instead of depressed. I’ve got one last slice of the cake Dad bought for my birthday still in the freezer. I think I’ll take it out today and celebrate with my sister.

My heart is so heavy as I write this. My mother in law, Tanya Bailey, passed away on Saturday at 66 years old. She was a wonderful person who trusted me to take care of her most precious gift — her son, Ian. We had a great relationship and I will miss her dearly. As my mother said, Tanya isn’t gone. She just went to her heavenly address. 💔
