For the 1st time, #BeckyBooks has ads from fellow #pulp publishers I think #DCJones fans will find interesting. It's an effort to bring the community together to share our love of adventure fiction, so check out their ads, and then check out their books! amazon.com/D-C-Jones-Adve…

I have a theory as to one of the reasons why #writers don't get much feedback and reviews on our books: Everyone's #TBR piles are too big. If you think about it, you'll realize I'm probably right.

Come Hell or sub-zero temps, I'm officially re-opening my upstairs on April 1st and re-establishing my writing space there. This is an annual thing. Heat does not make it to the second floor of my house, so I don't use it in the winter months.

@writerjimbeard Cool. Will John Bruening be there with the Guardian book he mentioned might be ready by October? (John is ok though?)

No one can ever tell me you can't spend an entire day at #AnimalKingdom. I was there for 10 hours & didn't even do everything that can be done. But I did have a full, happy time, and even rode a couple of rides twice. It was great returning to the park after 9 years. #DisneyWorld

@rossi_tg Yes, I'm a fan of very little of the modern takes, myself. I prefer a less-is-more approach. He should be the one character in all of comics that we know the least about...and absolutely nothing of his real name. Mystery is menace.

Great article! One thing that became clear to me is that many of these takes drift fairly far from the original concept. For example, that three Jokers idea and the latest one where he has been trained in a similar way to Batman. I think part of the problem has been making the Joker god-like, as a way to match with a god-like infallible Batman. To me, this starts with the Morrison Batman, that I actually rather like. The best recent take on the Joker, in my opinion, is the one in 'the man who stopped laughing' where we get a desperate, prone to mistakes, and actually funny Joker(s).
