I’m so lucky. For most of my life, I was: ‣ Depressed ‣ Purposeless ‣ Scared to show my face But what happened 15 months ago changed my life. How? Well, not how you expect it. I’ve been playing football for 15+ years. This time tho, against a Champions League side. The club that has already faced, Sevilla, Chelsea, and Liverpool. And surprisingly… I’m in the starting line up. (you thought I was gonna say we won, right? Hehe, read till the end to find out) The atmosphere is wilder than in Camp Nou. ‣ The flags are waving in the air ‣ The crowd is screaming my club’s name ‣ The whole team is excited to play the match I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Even tho my life has been a WILD run: ‣ I once spent 20 days in a hospital ‣ I used to speak negatively to myself ‣ I was always scared to talk to people “Forget about the past Jakob and give it your all now.” A deep breath in and out. “Wow, this is real!!!” I’m on the pitch, playing as a left back, covering 2 of the DEADLIEST attackers in the club. One of them had scored 24 goals for his national team Algeria. The other one was the league's BEST scorer. Impressive stats... But I don’t care. I tackle both of them. I make important blocks. I run after every ball they get. “Fu** yeah I’m so good.” Can you imagine that? Being just a normal 20 yo boy who plays football for fun, now playing against the best side in your country? Not only that. You make f**king crucial tackles and blocks. All rainbow and sunshine. Unfortunately, work had its consequences: ‣ Cramps ‣ Headache ‣ Bleeding knees So I’m substituted at half-time (with a smile on my face). In the end, we lose 4:0 (not even that bad, eh?). But I personally won: ‣ Tougher mentality ‣ Finally proud of myself ‣ 1 more box of my life goals ticked A few months before this moment I was depressed. Few days after the match, I was on the front page of the newspaper. Now, over 1750 people read my tweets daily and I’m living my dream life. I’m so lucky.
