"Education need to be completely restructured with the integration of AI." - x.com/deryatr_/statu… I would strongly disagree. It needs to be completely restructured around critical thinking and lifelong learning. Having mapped out the education space in 2022 / 2023 with teams that work in education and then used these maps to identify where to invest, I can quite comfortably say that our top priorities for society should be investment in critical thinking and lifelong learning. Yes, the top priorities for the market are about making money and these include New Practices / Use of AI. Arguing schools should adopt this on the basis of improvement in metrics just reinforces what most education systems currently do which is produce more useful economic units. This is what the market needs rather than what society needs which is people that think.

Education need to be completely restructured with the integration of AI. Every student should have access to a personal AI teacher. Higher education must also fully embrace AI & become 10 times more affordable. The impact of AI on education will be unimaginably transformative!

@sonjabl - You ask 3 people what they think about the situation and get at least 2 different stories. - You feel paralized as you don’t know - and can’t figure out - what will come if you do this or that. Etc. Some are more precise but they all are essily identifyable experiences.

@sonjabl I tend to think rules of thumb. A set for different contexts. - You catch yourself thinking in scenarios and don’t know which is more probable. - When planning you are faced with ?s that are impossible to answer. - That feeling when you plan a game and don’t know if it will rain.

How would you explain to an average person (CEO, teacher, housewife, parent) how to identify that they are in complexity or facing a complex problem? I.e. how do you know something is complex? Without using any of the technical terms or jargon.

@snowded If you know about the permeability and functions of the skin, how the nervus vagus brings 9x the information to the brain then from it, how cognition is distributed in the whole system and it’s particularities… But then it’s a biology class and not a metaphor anymore.

One of the most pernicious and dangerous metaphors is to see the organisation as a human body. Senge popularised it, but it doesn’t handle the complex & open ecosystem which we dealing with and it encourages people to position themselves as the brain and others as limbs

Meditation, reflection, ritual etc all have a strong evidence base and value. Mindfulness programmes and apps on the other hand are mostly bandaid tick boxes allowing managers to avoid dealing with underlying issues of abuse.

I’m into big projects and learning - struggling really - to break them down into managable bits. So tweeting helps me. @snowded says in complexity it’s about managing connections. I think the Resnick’s model of couples therapy goes in that direction.

Heidegger said: “Man thinks he is the master and shaper of language, but language is the master of man.” -I’d say both are true at the same time. And a lot follows from that.

@SethAbramson What I know of us legal proceedings, this seems like something that happens often. I don’t know whether this is a possible case with impeachments. I’m interrested in the theorethical approach. I’m interrested in the theoretical possibilities.

@SethAbramson I’m not a us citizen so I have only indirect stake and very limited knowledge. I’m asking from a principles pov: Isn’t it like first there is the question of blame/crimes committed and then the consequences? Guilty of some, not others. Then punishment?

@SethAbramson I mean - considering the political nature of this - listing a numbe of accusations, more than they believe trump can be convicted of. Then findhim guilty of some. And assign appropriate punishment? Thus navigating political waters and achieving appropriate goals?

@tomaspueyo It’s not all about R, also about mortality rate - which we don’t know anything about for this new strain. Evolutionary beneficial direction for viruses is increased transmission rate & increased survival rate. There’s much we don’t know yet.

The new virus strain is ~60% more infectious. We haven’t processed what that means.🧵 1. Western countries that didn’t stop the previous variant won’t be able to stop this one. It’s already in UK, US, FR, NL... that we know. Probably many more places. cmmid.github.io/topics/covid19…

@SethAbramson The bigest mistake one can make is to underestimate a player (where it doesn't seem to matter). While Hannity might not be the sharpest concerning legal procedure or strategy, he can still be highly practiced in making appearances be convincing. He makes a living of that...

@SethAbramson Although not in any of his bios I could find, Hannity has been on television for a long time --> he has to have some training in acting techniques, at least related to being a tv show host. Any chance he cooperates and acts as if doesn't?

QUESTION: The Post says Hannity and Trump talk several times a week and often discuss the Trump-Russia probe. Trump can't claim his conversations with Hannity are privileged, as Hannity isn't an immediate advisor within his government. So why doesn't Mueller talk to Hannity ASAP?
