@Jeffery_Cobb @MitchVingle The mascot was there, but the band was notably absent. I did see the president and some of the MAC staff there. The NIL stuff just adds to complexity of events like this. Like is the prize money structured like the TBT or evenly split?

@wvususan @MitchVingle Maybe players NIL goes toward jet, hotel, food, etc. Although probably no different than if they'd gone to the NIT or NCAA. I will say the chartered jet & traveling party looked smaller. No band, cheerleaders or mascot. So cost savings are in effect for sure.

By making the Final Four of the Crown Tournament, WVU has guaranteed itself a payday of no less than $50k in NIL. More $$ still to be had if they keep winning. $100k to teams that win the semifinals and the champion nets $300k. Nebraska took the prize last year.

@MikeAsti11 Agree with this. (As a season ticket holder, I didn’t see this much passion in some of the games.). However, there were stretches in the game last night that almost made it unwatchable for me. I say almost, because I don’t think I’ve ever turned off a game or left a game early.

Obviously, Stanford missed the NCAA Tournament too, so they had their issues. However, WVU would've probably flipped the few games they needed to flip if they played with this kind of aggressiveness on BOTH ends of the floor all season.

I had issues and they responded days later after I missed the game (prob GW girls in states for a game)I think I had to file a chargeback with my credit card company.

@dubv01 Oh, I get it. I said on Friday at the coliseum that seeing guys here for one year makes it hard to cry ugly tears for them on senior night, and I’m sure the feeling is mutual. I cried on Jevon and Dax’s senior night. So did they.

@wvususan Fair point but in the era of athletes playing 5 years at 5 different schools be a Jordan Harrison. That was my point.

This is the difference between 4 years at one school in one sport and what’s going on in almost every other sport. I’d be 💯 for paying a player like this…. Some of y’all BUMS need to pay attention.

@drewfino15 For me watching our seven (?) seniors last night, I was thinking I need more than one year to develop a true love for them….and the feeling is likely mutual. It surely wasn’t a senior night like we had for Dax and Jevon. (Lots of tears for everyone)

Senior night don’t hit the same in the portal era. Fans went from watching players for 4yrs to only 1yr now

@PaulMountaineer @emanuelsharp_ I recently watched Jevon and Dax video from their senior night. We won’t get many of those types of relationships between teammates and love from fans with the portal (the NIL just compounds things)

THIS!!!!! THIS is what we are losing! Tenured players who spend their careers are a School and not only do they, but their entire families become an "alum" of that school for life. So sad how little this happens anymore. Congrats @emanuelsharp_ !

Hear me out. How about every season ticket holder for @WVUWBB gets (at least) one new season ticket holder for next year & then every game has the energy of today! @CoachKellogg12 has had a great thing going since day 1. Just my simple suggestion 😉 @wrenbaker @michaeltbenson
