What's done is done. Those people aren't going back to NY. What happens next is she & the legislature of New York will start, (or continue,) adding small fees to everything. A few cents here, a quarter there, most people won't complain, (if they even notice) because it feeds their virtue signaling. Those that do ask questions or complain will be labeled as selfish, racist, or whatever, because they're not willing to foot the bill for "generous social programs" that they themselves aren't eligible to access. Round & round it goes. Normalizing hidden taxation, wasting the funds, increasing the fees, complainers shamed & shouted down. Hocul & Company know they're the problem. That's evidenced by them trying to interfere with people selling private property such as homes or businesses, or their new inheritance tax rates. That can't be looked at as anything but trying build a financial cage to keep people trapped in the state.

Today’s my 40th birthday!

Client was a VP at a large company. 62 years old. Was going to work until 65. January: called into HR. Severance package. Sign by Friday. He called me that afternoon. "I think I just got retired." No transition. No goodbye lunch. No plan. His whole identity was that job. His social life was those people. His purpose showed up every morning at 7:45am. The money was fine. We figured out the money in two meetings. The identity took a few years. He told me recently: "The hardest part wasn't losing the job. It was realizing I'd built my whole life inside someone else's building." Retirement that happens to you hits completely differently than retirement you choose. Millions of people in their 60s are navigating this right now and nobody is talking about it.

At this point the pattern is clear. It can only be described as complete systematic erasure fueled by suicidal empathy & a narrative that teaches guilt over accomplishment. I reject all three. The authoritarian architects of this insanity apparently seek to bring all humanity to the lowest common denominator and trigger a new "Dark Ages", instead of encouraging reaching for the stars. What does it matter who did what? The only criteria should be; "Was it good? Does it work? Did it spur introspection & advancement? Was humanity elevated?" If any of these are true, then celebrate the achievement and keep going. It's probably the right direction. Humanity faces a simple choice: Go back to wallowing in mud and squalor, or continue to move forward.
