He just wanted to do something different. He also clarifies that the original model, as iconic as it was, was rushed. That trying to get in contact with the original artist to refresh it without corpo support and funds was extremely difficult. But also above all… it had been three years. He was ready for a change. The gender ambiguity in the first place was in part about proving you could be successful in a corpo without fitting a specific archetypal box. Which he accomplished. But the new model isn’t necessarily “feminine” now. And he hopes people will come around on appreciating it, even if not everyone will be a fan.
