@ChrisMasonBBC @hzeffman Can you not give one tangible and justifiable example of Gray's behaviour that has upset the people talking to you? That would be journalism. This is smearing.

If Brexit didn't do it and Boris didn't do it and Truss didn't do it, surely, Rishi's response today to the current strikes must be the end of the Conservative party for a generation.... 5% for the nurses is fair?

@BBCNews Of course the Johnson camp claims they have 100. What was his relationship with the truth in the past? And who do seedy MPs choose - a likely winner to further their careers over principle. Why not claim 200 Boris?

@Jeremy_Hunt Given you oversaw the NHS for so long prior to the pandemic, surely you should have stepped down as chair before this enquiry even began, so that it could evaluate the state of preparedness for a pandemic, and the NHS generally, with appropriate independence. Step down now.

But most of all we need to understand, as we rebuild both systems after their biggest ever challenge, that rather than just do what we have always done more efficiently (and with more money) science and innovation can help us leapfrog the old ways of doing things.

Today’s report is most important my Select Committee has done. Taken over a year with lengthy evidence sessions (7 hours in the case of Dominic Cummings) but shows, I hope, parliament at its best as we deliver far reaching conclusions about our pandemic response…

@june_mummery @Keir_Starmer How dare you criticise anyone over the disastrous state of our fishing industry. Few did more than you to put it there.

UK fishing farce: Jobs and factories could move to EU after 'dog's breakfast' deal - paper express.co.uk/news/politics/… @Keir_Starmer up in arms over"wallpaper gate", if only he had put as much effort into helping fisherman & coastal communities the polls might be in his favour.

@PaulGething1 @vonderleyen @BorisJohnson Its the UK that wants to leave, so why not just leave? Then we get all the fish we want, no foreign courts and we can spend all the tax we like subsidising business!

@vonderleyen @BorisJohnson For a deal the EU says we can’t subsidise our industries without THEIR say so because we might be “too competitive” We cannot have our fishing waters back unless THEY say how much THEY can fish. If we disagree it will be THEIR courts that decide. What Country could agree to that?

With @BorisJohnson we took stock of the negotiations. The conditions for an agreement are not there due to remaining differences on critical issues.   We asked our Chief Negotiators to prepare an overview of the remaining differences to be discussed in person in the coming days.

The UK wants to be a member of the club without the restraint of its rules. Europe cannot agree to open borders without a reliable means of enforcing compliance. Immovable object meets irresistible force. Let business prepare for the inevitable - 23 days!!!

@gerardtbaker Your article in today's London Times is a disappointing. You fail to mention PA, which would double the 50K margin, make reference to the 5M popular vote surplus or note that Trumps own vote integrity team in Homeland Security gave the election a clean bill of health yesterday!

Trump’s sulk is part of a longer game plan. If the president sows enough doubt about the election results he can stand again in 2024 as the man who never really lost: thetimes.co.uk/article/trumps…

What many miss about Donald’s argument is what it reveals, not about his less than average intelligence, but about his extreme sociopathy. He sees “cases” as just numbers that affect his image, like the ratings he’s obsessed with. To him the people, ill and dying, don’t exist.
Acyn@Acyn

Trump: As an example, we’ve done 45 million tests. If we did half that number, you’d have half the cases, probably around that number. If we did another half of that, you’d have half the numbers. Everyone would be saying we’re doing well on cases

@BBCr4today @SuellaBraverman For "Suella" (what's wrong with her real name by the way) - to call Major elite is ridiculous. She should look to her Leave colleagues from Eton and other public schools if she is worried about an elitist influence!
