The oldest showed me his change log, he’s on version 7.2 of his mushroom themed vertical platformer. The youngest pronounces it “Gem-in-EE” & clicks the skip thinking button every time. I watched as he iterated getting around the safety filter for a game about a terrorist coyote.

My nephews (8-12 y/o) are obsessed with computer games but they only have Chromebooks lent to them by school. All the game sites have been blocked, but they have access to Gemini and realized they could vibecode their own custom platformer games.

@thdxr I love to use an agent to quickly prototype an idea, and then I throw all that out and think "ok, time to build for real" and lay a scaffolding I trust before handing new things off to an agent to build within my structure

working on a new project and once again i do not understand how people use agents at the start of the project i didn't even think to, just naturally went around defining interfaces to think through what i'm doing agent comes later

@LioLunesu I always wonder how much time is being lost just in roundtrips between services like a managed DB in Virginia and an API server in Ohio. Obviously just one isn't much, but I'm sure when you've got a few different services it starts to add up.

Devs seem to be perfectly happy to have frontend on Vercel, DB on Firebase, Backend on Render/Fly, DNS on CloudFlare, and jumping between half a dozen different dashboards to get your app up and running. Using something like "defang compose up" to get all your app, everything, deployed into one place seemed like an easy sell, but it's not.
