I’m also reminded of a case we had back in 2018 where a straight artist who was creating mainly fluffy art of a popular gay ship was bullied into taking their own life. Some idiot accused them of fetishizing queer couples to make money. 🙃

@larlaristy Y’all need to stop assuming people are homophobic for not wanting to draw/write MLM/WLW content. Like I can understand NOT wanting to support artists who are homophobic, but there are understandable reasons why people don’t create content for queer ships that aren’t homophobic.

Some straight artists have said they’d rather have actual queer artists creating the content since they often get zero recognition for their talents because they’re queer and homophobia is rampant. So they retweet/signal boost their works instead to send work their way.
