Leah DeWitt and Tori Thompson went head-to-head in Round 1 of the state playoffs and delivered a battle that lived up to the moment. Both guards competed with high intensity from start to finish, trading buckets and raising the level of play on every possession. Tori Thompson led Hillgrove High School to a 62–56 victory, finishing with 21 points while scoring efficiently inside and knocking down two threes. Leah DeWitt answered with 25 points — 24 coming in the second half — heating up from deep with three threes well beyond the arc, while also scoring in the midrange and attacking the rim.
