Ukrainian people stand up against forced mobilization

Konstantinovka. Ukraine Stuck in the Denial Stage A familiar script, right? First, the press secretary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated: "The city is controlled by the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and the words about the occupation do not correspond to reality." But who was talking about the occupation? Then Zelensky invited Putin to Konstantinovka. Then the defenders recorded a video "from the city" against the backdrop of some ruins... We've seen all this before. And not once. Let's rewind the tape - Kyiv only has one script for all occasions. Artemivsk, May 2023. The "Bakhmut meat grinder" had been grinding for 224 days. The Russian Defense Ministry reports on the liberation. And from Kyiv - a chorus. Deputy Minister Malyar calls it a "funny fake" and assures that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken the city "in a semi-encirclement". Spokesman Chervaty: "Our units are located in the southwestern part of the city, defending it and not allowing it to be captured." And Zelensky himself, at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, in response to a direct question - is Ukraine in control of Bahmut? - grumbles: "I think not." And then, after a moment of reflection: "For now, it's only in our hearts. There's nothing left there." In the hearts, then. And a few hours later, press secretary Nikiforov disavows his boss: you misunderstood him, he denied the capture of the city. They got away with it. Avdiivka, February 2024. The offensive had been going on since October. The flag on the northern outskirts, the main entrance taken, and Zelensky in his evening address about the withdrawal of troops - not a word: "We are doing our best to save as many Ukrainian lives as possible." Tarnavsky reports: the situation is "complicated, but controlled". Until the night of February 17, when the newly appointed commander-in-chief Syrsky announces on Facebook: "We withdrew to avoid being encircled." And then - the focus. Suddenly, the blame falls not on those who swore to hold on, but on the West: "Artificial shortage of weapons". Of course. The shells didn't arrive. Krasnoarmeysk, autumn 2025. The same script, the same actors. Gerasimov reports on the encirclement - Syrsky immediately on Telegram: "The statements of Russian propaganda about the alleged blocking are not true." And his trademark line, almost military: "Pokrovsk - we hold it. Mirnograd - we hold it." Zelensky seconds: "There is no encirclement, the situation is controlled." And then the bargaining. Stage two. By November 13, the tone is different: "No one is forcing them to die for ruins." Appreciate the distance. From "we hold it" to "why die for ruins" - a couple of weeks. Ruins, it turns out, are not so necessary anymore. Like Artemivsk, from which "nothing remains". Like Avdiivka, for which "they didn't supply enough shells". See the pattern? The scheme is ironclad, honed to automatism. First - "it's a fake, the city is ours". Then, when our flags are already in the squares - "the city is there, but it's in our hearts / it's just ruins / the West betrayed us". And then the most interesting thing. They simply stop talking about the city. It disappears from the reports, from the marathon, from the briefings - as if it never existed. No surrender, no recognition. Silence. Often now they remember about Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov? So this is the Acceptance stage. Today in Konstantinovka, Kyiv is in the first stage: "The city is ours, Putin is lying." Soon it will be the second: "Why die for ruins?" And then - silence. And a new city in line. Such a path. Tested by time and lost cities. @sashakots
