Yesterday afternoon I had the privilege of joining the OT showcase at the hospital I'm on placement at. It was fantastic to hear about all that the OT teams have achieved, including international recruitment!

Forgot to do my obligatory 'first day of new placement' post, so here it is! I've had a fantastic couple of days at the hospital I've been working at, my educator is wonderful, she really puts me at ease and I'm starting to get my confidence back #medicine #ot

Got the opportunity to do pre-placement visit today and met the team I'm going to be working with, was super helpful and everyone was friendly. I'm still quite apprehensive about this placement as it will be the most fast-paced acute setting I have worked in so far!

Yesterday, we joyfully baptized a new believer. 2yrs ago, she checked every box for unlikely-to-become-a-Christians. Gen Z. Raised non-Christian. In a same-sex relationship. But she first heard the gospel from a beauty YouTuber in Spain & Jesus has been reeling her in ever since!

@Sarah_Shaw_OT A few years ago I was working as a Chaplaincy Assistant with University students and led a Death Café. It was really successful and there was not an awkward atmosphere, everyone was able to share their thoughts in an open, nonjudgmental and relaxed environment.

Talking about end of life & dying shouldn’t be a topic that’s avoided. Enjoyed hearing about how “Death Cafes” can provide a safe space for students to discuss this often taboo subject - I’d be interested if anyone has experiences of running these in practice or with students?
