@OfficialNuu__ @Pirat_Nation 100K people gave it a chance, and you should read the Steam reviews if you think the bad reviews were unjustified. Highguard ran like shit and there was a lot of unnecessary downtime, making the game feel too repetitive and boring very quickly. It flopped because it wasn't good.

@RiotPhroxzon Hexoptics is like Shieldbow. If it's not good as a first item, almost nobody will build it. Most ADCs are forced into Zeal item + IE + LDR and can't take anything else as their 2nd, 3rd and 4th items ever since you guys changed crit items to 25% crit chance. Terrible item system.

Patch 26.4 Preview! Overall - Things are looking pretty stable; we're seeing some pretty marked game time reductions (probably from) the turret plate bulwarking reductions - We're still waiting to see the impact of the faelights and early vision changes on Jungle, but need a full patch to draw some conclusions there (and on the early bounty changes) - After this patch, things are likely to be in a pretty good spot overall, would love to hear from y'all what other things need changing - We've gotten a few initial surveys back from players and Top and Bot have been reporting higher satisfaction and power, while JG, Mid, Supp have been either neutral or lower sentiment. - This was pretty much our goal, but there's still some fine tuning to do, expect some of that in some of the coming patches Systems - Hexoptics hasn't really managed to pick up much of an audience, so we're making some adjustments to make its damage amp passive more accessible to more champions along with some other tuning adjustments Champion Changes - First Stand is coming up on 26.5; we're making a lot of changes for both general balance and hitting a few of the other outliers/forgotten champions - There isn't really a major theme here, other than trying to adjust some of the outliers that especially have benefited overly from some of the systems changes (items or otherwise) - Some of our unconventional junglers are also a bit worse for wear, so we're giving them a bit of a bump up - Mel and Zed are in a decent spot after the hotfix buffs, so we're letting them sit for a bit to stabilize Challenger+ Ranked - We made some adjustments this patch to increase queue times in Challenger to get better match quality - We're going to walk this back a bit as even though match quality has factually improved a bit, players are still feeling like those matches aren't higher quality, while having longer queue times - Going to walk it back about halfway as a result

A few notable things coming out in 26.3! Ranked - We are nerfing Challenger duos - Aegis of Valor eligibility criteria is being pushed from a C to a B - We've seen a lot of the discussion about edge cases here. Ultimately, we still think striving to win is better than playing for KDA and losing, especially with the way the current Mastery formula works (you don't optimize Mastery by just playing for KDA and doing nothing) - Peoples' climbs are in various states of de-sync after the usual first month of climbing. Some people are just starting their climbs now, so they will have a climbing indicator to show that their actual skill is higher than their visual rank would imply - Streamer mode is going to make both you and your enemies anonymous when it is being used SR Changes - Many changes this patch to address Mid lane meta, both nerfing the T3 boots and Phase Rush for ranged - The major changes to Mel are landing in this patch, we will be following up closely on her balance state - Adjustments to Dusk & Dawn, as well as AP Varus Top, Ekko and Diana who are outliers with the item. We think the item is overall balanced for other champions - Also, the requested "control wards start in role quest slot" is shipping in this patch for supports - Finally, junglers will find it a bit easier to gank in the early game with nerfs to early faelights and yellow trinkets Demacia Rising & Client Performance - There are new chapters to explore this patch, including Level 3 settlements to experience! - Additionally, there have been a variety of improvements to Demacia Rising's impact on client performance

Quick Thoughts 16.1 Mel Riot Emizery revealed some of the upcoming Mel changes about to hit the rift in 16.3, which were a response to a lot of your feedback on her current state. The main change is removing her immunity on W. Have seen a lot of concerns about this causing her to lose her identity. She will still have her reflect and we believe that is one of the core pieces that remains intact ; it will just be more necessary for her to use it well to succeed. We'll be monitoring closely and see if we need to follow up with any power adjustments. Ranked Thoughts We've been monitoring a lot of things closely with the rollout of the new Season. We're seeing Challenger and GM LP requirements slowly drift up and start to stabilize as more people start their climbs, as well as the tops of the ladder and LP gains flattening out. Start of season for apex tiers is always going to be a bit chaotic as people start to separate themselves out of the Apex reset (which clumps a lot of apex players at the beginning to give more of a fair playing field). It appears that many players in those ranges are stabilizing at +-20 and capping out around 2k LP which is intended. We are about to do a wave of boosting and hitchhiking bans that number ~10k, we will be reverting the ranks of these players, punishing the boostees of the players and stripping the ranked rewards of those involved. This wave is larger than usual because of end of season/start of season boosting. Please don't boost, it's really not worth it and we're going to catch you eventually. We've also been monitoring duo queue, especially at high MMR. So far we're pretty happy with the balance overall, it seems roughly balanced, for the most part, but we'll continue to do fine tuning there. As we mentioned in the Season Start blog, the size of Iron has been reduced this Season and as a result there's been some intentional upward shift in the rest of the ranks. We want iron and low bronze to better reflect the skill level of newer players to the game and not be a permanent resting home for tenured league players, as there's not really another place for newer players to start and climb from. You also might have noticed that iron is smaller because we've been removing and sweeping a lot of the botted (and subsequently intentionally deranked) accounts from the ladder. This is an ongoing initiative that we're going to keep pushing on. Finally on aegis, dodging and time to game, the marked improvements around dodges and their effect on queue times have stayed pretty consistent. We're in the process of evaluating Mastery ranks required for aegis grants and whether we should bump up the requirements. We've also been fine tuning what performances are required to receive what ranks. Nothing to share back just yet, but something that we're monitoring. As far as aegis for voluntarily playing priority roles goes, we're likely going to bump the rate up a bit. Players get autofilled a lot less than you'd expect, especially for average play, so it will still be pretty rare to get priority role aegises (think 1 in 30-60 games depending on region, rank). It's quite close to the autofill rate in most regions, but still a bit lower on average. Overall, after some early season instability, most of the systems are playing out as we expect. We still intend to ship better matchmaking of offroles and autofills in the coming patches, but we're finalizing a bunch of the details on those. We want to make sure it plays out as we expect before it hits live servers. In the meantime, happy climbing and hope you're all able to achieve your ranked goals this season.

@RiotPhroxzon @Spideraxe30 In ranked, someone on the enemy team sold their items early, ran it down under turret, and didn't get punished even days later. I have a lot of examples like that from this patch alone. Think your detection system is not working.

2026 Ranked Changes! The ranked changes this year were heavily inspired by feedback from you all about pain points and things where we could improve. 1. Queue times, especially in apex 2. Experience around autofill and autofill balance 3. Dodging and time to game Queue Times In the graph attached, we've been cooking on some optimizations to get queue times down without affecting match quality. As Meddler mentioned, these changes have now been rolled out in all regions for Ranked. In Season Start, we're also in testing on some more optimizations, that we hope can get times down even further. Some of the reasons why queue times are long today is because our current matchmaking algorithm spends a lot of time trying to make games have autofill & secondary role parity, but those optimizations are extremely costly to queue times. We believe we've found some optimizations that are in testing that can bring those times down, without compromising game quality (more to report back in January!) Autofill You've told us that y'all really don't like it when autofills are imbalanced by teams and that can make the game feel doomed in champ select. At the same time, some players detest playing autofill at all. Unfortunately, we can't cash that check to remove autofill today 😢 as players would be in queue forever. So the path we took was to make those autofill games more rewarding and incentivize you to play them out. Our changes in the new season will also make autofill balance in-role more effective (eg. fill jgl vs fill jgl) While Aegis of Valor is launching with a C or higher and no disruptive behavior transgressions (like AFK), we are open to increasing the requirements if we observe players messing around with this. Dodging Finally, on the dodging front, chain dodging has become a pretty big problem, especially in high MMR, where lobbies are repeatedly dodging the same person. At Master and higher, dodging will cost the same MMR and LP as a loss In these lobbies, repeated dodging and target bans have the biggest impact on game quality, so we want to incentivize players to play out those games. We understand that there are some games where it might feel like you're at a comp diff, but we hope that better balance around autofills in 2026 will make those games meaningfully more fair. We don't consider someone having had their lane counterpicked as a reasonable reason to dodge, as the game starts in champ select. In the same way you can't dodge after someone gets first blooded, we want to normalize champ select experience as part of the game. Having said that, we know that people being disruptive with lobby hostaging and other disruptive behaviors are still major pain points for you all.
