Old art warning: I really like drawing traditional dress, and I felt like exploring other traditional dresses from less known areas. The cuera is the most well known of Tamaulipas but there are others! I probably didn't get all of them but these are some of them :')

Really old art since I'm in a bit of an art block right now, I'm thinking of changing her name but otherwise everything is more or less the same.

An old concept for my Huastec oc I really like the name Toxíl for her! The Téenek (or Huastecs) are a Mayan speaking peoples indigenous to ‘La Huasteca’ a geocultural region along the gulf of Mexico, who mostly live in S.L.P, Veracruz, and Tamaulipas respectively.

The gentleman on the right is Pame, said to be the least (or one of the least) warlike of the Chichimecas, and is one of the few that is still around today as a distinct ethnic group, living primarily in SLP, but previously lived further south in pre-colonial times.

Also it's said that their exonym came from a misunderstanding with the Spaniards, and the Pame often replied, "muep, muep, muep" meaning "no, no, no" which sounded to them like Muepa which became transformed into Pamie, then became Pame

"Caí" en una guardia del mismo hospital 5 veces en 3 meses. Diagnóstico: gastritis, Buscapina compuesta inyectable y a casa. En la última pedí ecografía mínimamente y con burla una médica me dijo "vas a saber vos + que yo?" Terminé particular con una eco: colecistitis.

Another picture that I think resembles the video in the finished bun that I think was used as a base for the ornate hairstyle with extra hair braided or coiled around it, and decorated with combs and pins...oh to be able to see it in person...

Based off some photos and illustrations, I think in the more ornate version, sections of the front of the hair were parted and styled in a way to act as "wings" that frame the face, such as in the first and third picture
