Forgot all the bluster, this is the most important issue for Hungary post-Orban, Hungary has been the most strategic EU country in terms of Chinese EV investment, how Magyar balances that alongside a shift back toward the EU is THE issue of his administration.

@HendrKim No one expects him to continue Orban’s one-sided approach, even Beijing has realistic expectations about him And his remarks are definitely on the warmer side and perfectly acceptable China’s embassy in Hungary today said it “appreciates” Magyar’s “positive comments on China”

@XIAOFEIXU The article is a bit contradictory though. Magyar sent a “warm overture” to Beijing. Yet he also implied that Chinese companies have unfair advantages (do they?) and that the Chinese-sponsored Budapest–Belgrade railroad was not in Hungary’s interest (why wouldn’t it be?).
