update: base8 has raised an initial round to build a brain-inspired architecture for generalised robot intelligence.
next 12 months will be focussed on researching a new model architecture and training process.

I’ve been using 5.4 non stop in the @RepoPrompt agent since launch with none of these issues.
It uses codex app server under the hood, but the tools and system prompt are different.
It’s still my absolute favorite model right now

gpt-5.4 in codex is often unreliable for long-running tasks. even with clear guidance, it often stops early and doesn't fully finish a task. In many cases, that only becomes obvious during code review. It ticks the tasks but there are a lot of leftovers. compared same & similar tasks in Cursor and its harness clearly performs better here.

@jasteinerman I felt that a lot in January, but now I feel like no time spent figuring this out is enough anymore. You wake up and we got 10 new innovations and 100 open source projects that make what you have been trying to build the day prior obsolete. It's insane.

@xrdevrob @JasonSCui tribal knowledge, is something passed on via oral/similar traditions within an org, and there is one specific transfer point, where is this super evident and the obvious first place to start
