If The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is dying, how do you explain the membership growth of at least +17% literally everywhere in the entire world? You’re just mad The Church of Jesus Christ is literally killing your false religion and your false gods of Saints, Mary, the Trinity, and the Bible with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as worshipped in the Bible according to the Bible, a feat your false religion cannot match. @NYerinLV @realDrTT There is context that is needed around this quote. Joseph was asking about the churches in his area and time to join. The 1932 & 1935 accounts explain: - lips are near but hearts are far - teach doctrines & commandments of men - have a form of Godliness but deny the power

Don’t confuse my rebuke of your ignorance to LDS doctrine with acceptance of that doctrine. The fact that more people don’t understand this distinction is very troubling.

What if God was never confined to one book? The Bible itself is a library: 66 books, written by about 40 authors over 1,500 years, spanning 3 continents and roughly 4,000 years of history. It tells hundreds of stories and records the lives of over 3,000 people. If God could speak through many books, many writers, and many generations, perhaps His word was never meant to be confined to just one scripture.

@realDrTT In a sadly very abbreviated account of a sermon from Joseph Smith he said "It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance." I like to think the reverse is also true, that it is impossible for one to receive damnation in ignorance. Gods judgment will be just.

@lowerlightburn @realDrTT 45 But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore he made atonement for the dead, so that they might be delivered from their sin.

At 8:00 PM CST, join a group of followers of Christ as we explore the conclusion of 1 Nephi together. Each evening we open with prayer, read from the Book of Mormon, read the daily Catholic Scripture readings, discuss what we’ve heard, pray the Rosary, and close in prayer. Though we come from different traditions, we gather in a spirit of friendship, charity, and a shared desire to draw closer to Jesus Christ. Tonight we will conclude 1 Nephi, followed by discussion, the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, and our closing prayers. All are welcome. x.com/i/spaces/1rjjp…

@RBryan2 @Primary_Pianist God was not directing it himself. He had to mediate through men. Apostasy is not some new concept. The Jewish leadership of Christ's time were, or they would have followed Him. Again when Babylon and Assyria came, and before Samuel, and before Moses, and before Abraham, etc.

@Primary_Pianist "The disagreement is over how much was lost and whether God restored it through Joseph Smith, not whether corruption can happen." The disagreement is that LDS think, God must have been incompetent in keeping his Divine truth alive, LDS do this in honor of there god, Smithianity

The reason Galatians 1:8 gets quoted so often is that many critics believe it is a simple, one-verse refutation of Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and the Restoration. The passage says: "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."— Galatians 1:8 The argument usually goes: Joseph Smith claimed an angel appeared to him. Joseph Smith taught things not found in modern Protestant theology. Paul warned about angels preaching another gospel. Therefore Moroni was a false angel and Mormonism is false. The problem is that this argument only works if you assume several things that Paul never says.

@tom_barmadillo Oh....so you are saying something significant happened and needed to be documented to develop faith in believers? And now you know why God gave us the Book of Mormon

Join us at 8:00 PM as we conclude 1 Nephi in our ongoing interfaith reading and discussion series. The evening will include: • A reading from the Book of Mormon • A reading from Catholic Scripture and Tradition • An opportunity for questions and discussion • The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary • A closing prayer While we have real theological differences, we also share a love for Jesus Christ and a desire to seek truth with charity and sincerity. Whether you’re Catholic, LDS, another Christian, or simply curious, you’re welcome to join us. Come listen, learn, ask questions, and participate in a spirit of friendship, mutual respect, and faith. x.com/i/spaces/1rjjp…
