Mark Zuckerberg says corporate America tried so hard to remove masculine energy that it became “culturally neutered.”
“I think a lot of the corporate world is pretty culturally neutered.”
“I think the kind of masculine energy is good.”
He says society already has plenty of it, but corporate culture swung too far in the other direction.
“I think corporate culture was really trying to get away from it.”
Zuck’s take is that not all aggression is toxic.
“I think having a culture that celebrates the aggression a bit more has its own merits that are really positive.”
This is a very different Zuckerberg than the hoodie-era Facebook founder.

Mike Tyson says God allowed him to be 60 and his mentor (Cus D’Amato) taught him at 12 years old to never speak negatively about himself because the subconscious doesn’t know when you’re joking.
"if you don’t believe in God, look at me"
"i should not be right here talking to you"
"God allowed me to live to be 60"
"my mentor taught me not to ever say anything negative about myself"
"only say beautiful things about myself"
"because my subconscious don’t know if I’m playing or not"

Dana White says the reason UFC works everywhere is simple, fighting is in human DNA and even people who hate fighting would run to watch one break out.
“No matter what color you are, what country you come from, or what language you speak, we’re all human beings.”
“Fighting’s in our DNA. We get it and we like it.”
“If a fight broke out right here, right now, we’d rip this door open and we’d all sit here and watch it.”
Dana says even people who claim they hate fighting still feel it:
“You can’t not feel that. There’s a certain energy that you feel. A little bit of fear, a little bit of adrenaline.”
“One or the other, but you’re looking.”

Dana White says boxing is broken because the entire sport was built like a cash grab.
“Tell me a business that has generated trillions of dollars in revenue. Yet, at the end of the day, there’s nothing there.”
“Every fight that these guys put on is like a going out of business sale. Let’s grab as much money as we can from everybody.”
“And then every time you would turn off the TV, you’re like, ‘God damn it, they got me again. That sucked.’”
Dana says UFC won because fans trust the product, not just one fight.
“There’s a lot of times we’ll put tickets on sale and I don’t even have the fights announced yet and then the fight will sell out.”
“I’ve created this trust with my fans that they know we’re going to deliver.”

Christopher Nolan says he doesn’t want the audience watching The Odyssey, he wants them inside the Trojan horse.
“I’m not looking at the characters from 30,000 feet. I’m trying to be in the race, in the maze with them.”
“I want to try and give the audience a sense of what a place would smell like, what it would feel like.”
For The Odyssey, Nolan says the mission is even more direct:
“I’m trying to put the audience into that horse.”
“I’m trying to put them on the deck of Odysseus’s ship.”
When asked if he wants the audience to be in the film, not just watch it, Nolan says:
“Very much. Yeah.”
That’s the Nolan formula: don’t explain the myth, trap the audience inside the myth.

Matt Damon says Nolan warned him The Odyssey would be hard, then it became the hardest movie he ever made.
“It was the hardest movie I’ve ever done by far. I mean, not even close.”
“At the end of the meeting, he said, ‘This movie is going to be hard.’”
Damon thought he understood.
“I’ve made, I don’t know, 100 movies or whatever. I looked at him like, ‘Yeah, I know.’”
Then Nolan corrected him: “No, this movie is going to be really hard.”
This is Damon’s third Nolan film after Interstellar and Oppenheimer.
So when he says this one was different, it probably will be epic.

Dana White revealed the White House UFC fight started with one casual sentence from President Trump at a live event.
“We’re sitting at a fight and he leans over me and goes, ‘You know what? We should do a fight at the White House.’ And I said, ‘Yes, yes, we should do a fight at the White House.’”
“And he’s the type of person if it comes out of his mouth, it’s happening.”
“That was a Saturday night. Monday, the White House was calling saying, ‘Let’s start figuring out logistics for the White House.’”
Dana says it is even harder than the Sphere event in Vegas:
“The Sphere in Las Vegas was the most complicated thing that we’ve pulled off. This makes the Sphere look like…”
“Where do we go from here? Like the moon.”
