The Carrick blueprint for beating Arsenal is proving effective once again. Don't sit deep, don't aggressively press the centre-backs, simply congest and block the midfield. Arsenal will suddenly look toothless, like a pack of frustrated wolves. Their defenders lack the ability to make progressive passes under pressure, so they constantly recycle the ball back to the goalkeeper. Their midfield struggles in tight spaces, leading to rushed blind passes, as we've seen with Zubimendi. The wingers waste good 0.5 xG opportunities, the striker remains starved of quality service, and the number 10 can't create magic out of nothing. If your goalkeeper is touching the ball more than your midfielders, that's a clear structural problem. If your midfielders are committing costly errors when pressed, that's a personnel issue. A striker being consistently under-served is another structural flaw. You simply can't line up with four defenders who all default to safe passes in your back four. You need at least one progressive full-back to carry or advance the ball. Right now, Ben White looks completely out of his depth in those inverted roles. This isn't just bad luck or one off-game, it's the system being exposed. Until Arsenal develop a proper Plan B or upgrade the players who can break these compact mid-blocks, every manager will keep copying this approach. Wolves and others have shown it works.

This scene is too funny to watch 🤣🤣🤣 Nice recommendation 🎥 🎬
