By proposing a concept of ‘immobility-mobility nexus’, I demonstrate how the temporal-spatial experiences of an extended while fixed stay in Australia during the pandemic lockdowns can simultaneously enhance and restrict temporary migrant workers’ immobility in multiple ways.

This article in @thirdworldq examines how Mainland Chinese immigrants learn about their Chineseness as a sign of difference and how they apply the tool of racial capital to manage the ‘othering’ process (such as concealing Chineseness and reassessing Hong Kongers’ identity).
