I've been saying this, 2 had some good character work sure but the story and the worldbuilding got obliterated. "At least the gameplay got better" it really didn't, it just made it a more conventional shooter and it wasn't even good at that compared to 3 which did it better.

While Mass Effect 3 resolved terribly, the real culprit to killing the franchise is ME2, which wasted a whole game on a functional side quest instead of building up the Reaper Invasion (relegated to a dlc) and more importantly, how to stop the Reapers.

@Internextion That was at least a selector and it didn't seem to come at the cost of a potential free fate collab character. Even if it was never actually in the cards, the expectation was there and people will complain that they feel cheated

@Internextion Even as a permanent reward people are still going to understandably expect something else, giving out an old unit for free isn't exactly generous unless you're genshin. They set a pattern so they have to know something like this will get them a lot of flak

@Internextion That's honestly pretty weak, so far every free character that wasn't in a selector or shop has been new so unless this is just a permanent thing people can get for doing the story it feels pretty lame.

everytime i go to the movie theater some bullshit happens in the parking lot, one time a shooting happened and we had to wait for the police to let us out, this time the fucking engine broke and we needed to call a tow truck, jfc man

Simply having themes does not make a story immune to criticism, you actually have to execute the themes well too. Vagueposting and calling people fascist for criticizing poorly written stories is basically an admission that you have no standards.
