Given the prefrontal cortex only kicks in at age 25...this explains why children struggle with empathy. I have a passion project I’m working on about empathy. Our school has focussed on it as an important quality with videos & conversations during tutor connect #ZAedu

@yasmotani A4 I believe that empathy is something that needs to start with us (the teachers) Even in this day and age, kids learn to follow examples. I reckon that if we get it right, it's a great big leap in the right direction!! #ZAedu

@JeanetteViljoen @MsMorrisTeach I think that we have such important learning happening as well that is not in our curriculum. Our Ss are seeing us struggle, persevere, problem-solve and collaborate. They have seen us at our most vulnerable. I think this is an important lesson for them #ZAedu
