Just this morning, I witnessed what real service looks like.
Nurses and doctors don’t get celebrated enough in this country. And today reminded me why they should be.
My mum has been seriously sick since yesterday. Weak. In pain. She hasn’t even rested properly.
During our family devotion, a woman ran into our compound shouting my mum’s name.
There was panic in her voice.
A woman was in serious labor about to deliver on her staircase.
My mum didn’t hesitate.
She didn’t brush her teeth.
She didn’t wash her face.
She didn’t complain about her own condition.
She just stood up and left with them.
I watched someone who could barely stand go help someone else bring life into this world.
That did something to me.
We celebrate loud success.
We clap for visible wins.
But real service is quiet.
Real sacrifice doesn’t announce itself.
It just shows up.
Today, I saw strength that doesn’t make noise.
Today, I saw purpose in action.
To every nurse, every doctor, every medical worker who answers the call even when exhausted I see you.
And to my mum… thank you for reminding me that real heroes don’t wait to feel strong before they act.
Some just answer the call anyway.
