Ycode 1.7.0 is out. The builder is faster and lighter. Layer selection, sidebar interactions, and the canvas iframe got a deep performance pass — and memory stays bounded across long sessions. 🧵

🗓️ "Updated Date" stays honest Edit any field on a CMS item and the **Updated Date** column reflects the change immediately, no refresh needed. Duplicates and v1 API writes keep their own timestamps.

🎨 Custom CSS previews live Drop `:root { --brand: #ff5500; }` in your **Head** custom code and use `text-[var(--brand)]` on a layer — the color shows up in the canvas immediately. Page CSS scopes to its page; components see global CSS only.

🧱 Component canvas, centered Open a component for editing and the canvas now sits in the middle of the scroll area instead of snapping to the top. Small components — a button, an icon — no longer hide in the corner.

📏 Canvas scrollbar, fixed **Fit Width** and **Fit Height** finally show a real, bounded scrollbar that tracks where you actually are. Selecting an off-screen layer scrolls to it instantly — no more 50ms delay.

🪶 Memory stays bounded Undo buffers are capped, editor image bitmaps cap through the asset proxy, and scroll/live-update listeners no longer leak. Heavy pages can idle for minutes without ballooning.

⚡ Layer selection is instant Click a layer in the tree — the right sidebar, canvas overlay, and URL all update without the old re-render cascade. Sweeping options inside **Select** dropdowns (Layout, Typography…) tracks the cursor.

Ycode 1.6.1 is out. Published sites ship leaner JS, leaner CSS, faster fonts, and a smarter LCP image — your PageSpeed score climbs without you touching a thing. 🧵

🪄 The layer tree drag-and-drop got an overhaul. Drop zones detect reliably in both directions. The "inside" outline matches the selected layer's width. Drop bars align with the depth connector lines. The drag ghost stays anchored to the cursor when the sidebar scrolls.

🛠️ Two runtime fixes: Image layers with numeric width or height no longer crash with "imgWidth.replace is not a function". Custom code scripts now run sequentially — inline snippets can rely on the external libraries declared above them.

🔗 Link fields pointing across collections now resolve to the real URL. If a Collection A item links to a dynamic page bound to Collection B, the CMS table and rendered href show /blog/my-post — not /{slug}. Cross-collection refs are resolved when the page is built.

🖼️ Mid-range phones stop wasting bytes on hero images. The default srcset ladder went from 5 widths to 9, adding 750, 828, 1080, and 1536 — the sizes iPhone XR, Pixel, and tablet 2x devices were missing. Hero images now match the device, not the next-bigger one.

🔤 Google Fonts no longer block rendering. The @font-face rules are fetched at publish time and inlined directly into your page. The browser skips the round-trip to fonts.googleapis.com and goes straight to gstatic for the woff2 — no more blocking CSS request.

🎯 The hero image gets the priority, not the logo. Ycode skips header, footer, and nav images — plus any SVG — when picking the LCP candidate. The real hero is preloaded with fetchpriority="high" and starts downloading before the parser reaches the <img>.

⚡ Pages load only the JavaScript they need. Animations, sliders, paginated collections, filters, and the locale selector are code-split. Eager JS dropped 22% on heavy templates, and marketing pages without sliders skip GSAP and Swiper entirely.

🪶 Builder UI styles no longer ship to your visitors. Published-site CSS dropped from 28.9 KB to 18.3 KB gzipped — 37% off every page — because Tailwind utilities used only inside the builder are stripped from the public bundle.
