the average player stopped trying to build. they just make one house they copy off youtube and then speedrun to the ender dragon and get bored of the game. modern minecraft encourages progression over creativity, and then doesnt provide meaningful progression

I'm getting tired of the bad-faith misinterpretations of TF2's problems, and why people complain. It's almost as if though severe problems have been plaguing the matchmaking system for almost a decade, not 15 minutes, and players are fed up with Valve's lack of meaningful action and communication. For the last few years, they've only reactively slapped bandaids onto slow queue times (at their convenience mind you), and only do so once things get so bad, they can't ignore it anymore. This isn't improving the system, this isn't progress- it's Valve, once again, getting pressured into doing the bare minimum level of maintenance for their game. If the last several years are of any indication, like with Scream Fortress 2024, this is only temporary. Every time they do this, the matchmaker inevitably breaks again and subjects everyone to slow queue times. And guess what's going to happen, AGAIN, when they throw another 30 maps into the game this year, and the player counts keep going down? Instead of addressing the core of the problem, which is the broken matchmaking system itself and their very clearly unsustainable update model- we receive a trickle of reactionary bugfixes. Instead of posting meaningful communication that everyone can see, ESPECIALLY about a problem EVERYONE was being subject to, we get a reply on a random reddit post. They might as well have not made the post at all, as it only got visibility once players stumbled across it, and another reddit post called it "harassment" to respond negatively to it. Hilariously, MOST of the replies to Jill's post were indeed negative, but they were constructive. They were asking for fixes, pleading for something more substantial than another bandaid- coming no where remotely CLOSE to "harassment." How else are we supposed to communicate with Valve when their ONLY direct means of communication comes from one guy under a random reddit post? How else can we express our frustrations? If you have a developer where literally ONE guy is talking publicly, you can't really complain when feedback is directed his way, negative or otherwise. Who else do we report to? Can you blame anyone for being angry? Players are tired of this 9+ year long failed matchmaking experiment, and lack of meaningful actions to fix it. It has done nothing but push countless players away, as the game continues to break, fail, and harm the gameplay experience. So forgive us players who are passionate about the game, and its future, if we don't shower this one rare, shred of communication with abject praise, as many seem to think is compulsory every time valve performs the bare minimum. God forbid we scold the multi-billion dollar company and hold them accountable.
