Alright, back to posting on here... Recently started a new company, Lattice Partners, with @colinmcdz and @anquetil. We are an AI consultancy and product studio building state of the art products for enterprises and startups. We are building Lattice fundamentally different than any other service business - moving faster than ever before with AI at our core. Will be posting more frequently on things we're working on and what we're learning along the way.

The more we build Lattice, the more I realize the further you get outside of the tech bubble the more unique opportunities and people you meet. I guarantee you no one is finding investors in SF that will take you to their ranch in Texas and ride horses and ATVs

🚨 Do you understand what's happening at Amazon right now? Their own AI coding agent Kiro reportedly "decided" the fastest way to fix a config error was to delete the entire production environment. Gone. A 6-hour outage. 6.3 million orders lost. Amazon's SVP called thousands of engineers into a mandatory meeting this week. Not to discuss strategy. To discuss damage control. Now here's my prediction and I want you to screenshot this: Amazon won't just ban AI-assisted code. They'll make every engineer personally liable for AI-generated code they approve. Other Big Tech will follow within 6 months. Think about what that means. The same companies that fired thousands of engineers to "restructure around AI" are about to tell the remaining ones.. you're now legally responsible for code you didn't write, can't fully understand, and were told to ship faster. Atlassian fired 1,600 people this morning to go all-in on AI. Replit is hiring kids who vibe code. And Amazon, the company that BUILT one of these AI coding agents just watched it nuke production. The vibe coding era isn't ending. But the "move fast and let AI break things" era is about to hit a wall. And that wall is called liability. Companies wanted AI to replace engineers. Now they need engineers to babysit AI. And they already fired the babysitters.

PREDICTION - Amazon will ban all Gen-AI assisted code changes in the coming weeks! More companies will follow..... Be warned - your legacy code base, tech debt and bugs will sky-rocket if you continue to BLINDLY embrace AI

84% of the world has never used AI. Not once. We're not in the late stages of adoption. We're still in the opening minutes.

This chart from Citadel's Global Intelligence Crisis article paints a really interesting picture of people's AI usage. The number of people using AI daily has barely moved in over a year. With everyone's talking about AI. Almost nobody has changed how they actually work. Until people have AI integrated with their systems and workflows it just won't become a daily driver.

the fundamental issue of the Figma MCP is that it uses screenshots why is taking a screenshot? Figma has the whole design stored in code. we need to implement in code. instead of doing code -> screenshot -> vision -> code, why not just do code -> code?

curious to hear if this is different for people building different products. basically are the models we have today good enough…forever?

would you rather: 1. copy opus 4.6 onto a private server and be able to claim that as a home grown LLM that you can use for your products (but never get a better model) 2. use APIs to connect to whatever the best model is at the time (always upgrading with what is best at the time)

Is on-premise the new cloud? I’m beginning to think yes. It’s the only way for companies to not blow themselves up and have some semblance of capability in an AI world…
