one side effect of this new algorithm update is that you’ll gain fewer followers. what X did was make the people you already follow and followed back much more visible on your timeline, every time you refresh it or go deeper. unlike before, when each refresh and deep scroll would show tweets from “random or unfamiliar accounts.” the advantage of the old reach is that, it made you connect with those random accounts. and if you’re someone who posts a lot, you’ll likely see even more reach and engagement. today, i haven’t seen a single unfamiliar account on my timeline like i was seeing before yesterday. overall, i think it’s a good update because it helps you keep up with your mutuals and you don’t have to make a list with this new algo.
