Hi @carolinemarcus Firstly, she won't be allowed to study nursing. Secondly - what about those who left Australia to join the barbaric, child-slaughtering, IDF? People might have more than "a few misgivings" about being in their care... Kenny x

‘Besides her extensive personal experience dealing with far-right antisemitism — including being doxxed in neo-Nazi chat groups — Silverstein emphasised in her evidence that “the majority of the antisemitism [she has] experienced has come from Jewish Zionists”. “While I have a PhD in Jewish history, it has repeatedly been made clear to me that I will never be employed in a Jewish Studies department in Australia because I and my work are anti-Zionist,” Silverstein’s evidence stated. “I have also been targeted on social media by Jewish people who discuss me as being a ‘traitor to Jews’, as ‘self-hating’, and so on.” Examples of such targeting featured in Silverstein’s report include a Melbourne rabbi accusing her of “adopting a narrative of those who hate us”; a prominent Melbourne lawyer describing her on social media as “a token self-hating Jew”; a pro-Zionist Instagram account depicting her and other anti-Zionist Jews as rats and comparing them to Nazi collaborators; and abusive emails labelling her “kapo shit” and wondering why her family did not die in the Holocaust. While many of the witnesses before the Commission have routinely conflated antisemitism with support for Palestinians and opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Silverstein noted in her report that, “I have never experienced antisemitism from proponents of the [pro-Palestine] movement throughout the course of my extensive, decades-long, professional and personal involvement in the Palestine solidarity movement and in researching histories of Palestinians in Australia”.’ deepcutnews.com/p/exclusive-th…

I moderated an event organised by the Sydney Jewish Community tonight (many non-Jews were there too). Police also there. Not because of violence or whatnot at this event, but to protect us against the very real threats of it by others. Thank you @nswpolice Poor fellow, my country.

@RichSunnyCoast @Ausbobsmit @Kaywoodsetts64 Obviously you think that Pauline is the answer for what ails Australia, over 30 years sponging off us and hasn’t contributed anything in that time, no bills introduced and written into law, only fronts up 45% of the time, millions in property portfolio, she’s all for the people.

Remember when Australian police exposed that several high-profile, seemingly antisemitic incidents and terror plots were faked by organized crime groups?? That’s why David Shoebridge is questioning the royal commission on antisemitism.

How I used to get taxed to death in Australia, before I left forever.🇦🇺 💰Me: Earn $500,000. 👮Gov: We'll take 48.5% of that, $242,500 thanks. 🏡Me: Buy my family a $1M home. 👮Government: Open your wallet, we want: 🥊$40,000 stamp duty on day 1. 🥊1% land tax, or $10,000 every year. 🥊10% GST for new homes, another $100,000 🥊Sell for $2M? 48% cap gain, You owe us $480,000. 🚗Me: Buy a nice $90,000 family car. 👮Gov: "33% Luxury car tax," another $29,000 thanks 🥩Me: Take my family to dinner. 👮Gov: Don't forget your 10% GST on ALL purchases. 🚴‍♂️Me: Buy a $1,000 bike online 👮Gov: 5% import taxes, ON TOP of the 10% GST. 👴Me: Dodge bullets for 50 years to retire with $2M. 👮Gov: We have a few ways to prevent that... 1 - 15% contribution tax. Every year you want to put $25,000 into your retirement account, we take $4,000 immediately. 2 - Owh, your assets in your retirement account pay you a dividend... that'll be another 15% tax thanks. You find 10% dividend growth, well, another $30,000 per year is due because that's "income," technically... 3 - You're going to love our new plan. Imagine your assets don't receive income from dividends, but they simply rise in value, you don't owe any taxes right? I mean, you didn't sell anything? Well, that's not modern or progressive enough, we want 30% of the "unrealized paper gains," you're generating. So, if you get a 20% return this year, you owe us $120,000, even if you don't sell a thing! Kinda neat right? 👶Me: Fine, tax me to death, but please let my kids have some crumbs. 👮Gov: AHHHHHH, we claim to not have "inheritance taxes," BUT your kids still pay taxes when they sell those assets. ✈️Me: Inflations 10%, these taxes are nuts, I'm leaving. 👮Gov: Slow down a moment, you owe us another 47% tax on all of the assets you're taking with you, even if you don't sell them. 🇦🇺I left Australia in 2022 on one of the first flights out of the country after the borders reopened. It was the toughest decision of my life. But, it was by far the best decision of my life. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧🇪🇺🇦🇺Western countries are all on the same path, and we saw how this ended in Russia, China, Venezuela and Cuba in the last 100 years. 🇷🇺🇨🇳🇨🇺🇻🇪 If you're on the fence about leaving, and doubting whether things could really get "that much worse." These were 2 of the books that helped me make the decision: Atlas Shrugged The Sovereign Individual.

How you get taxed to death in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 Me: Earn $220k+ in income CRA: Lovely. We’ll take 53.53% of that Me: Treat yourself to a exotic car for the hard work CRA: Add 23% Tax Me: Put $100 in the gas tank CRA: That'll be 35% Tax Me: Make $250k capital gains on stocks CRA: That'll be 66.7% Capital Gains Tax Me: Investment income retained in corporation CRA: That'll be 50.17% tax mate. I could go on, but the harder you work, and the more value you create in the economy, the more they punish you in Canada.

Have you heard #DaveHughes "Hughesy" RANT on social media? The wealthy property investor, once a funny comedian, beneficiary of #WealthyWelfare, having a fucking whimpering sob about the CGT capital gains tax? Well, not only is he a fiscal fool, he doesn't understand the budget, he doesn't understand finances, and he doesn't understand superannuation. All of which he's now concluded means we should call a fucking election, because he's gonna get hit in the hip pocket, just a tiny little bit more. Here is a man with multiple properties, one of his houses in 2017 was apparently valued at $3.06 million, if that was in my suburb, it would it be worth $5-7 million now. And that's just one of them. And he's fucking carrying on as if he's gonna lose his shirt, which, incidentally, he's never had a nice one. Noisy doesn't hold back:

“My name is Amos Goldberg. I am an Israeli Professor of Holocaust Studies. For nearly 30 years I have researched and taught the Holocaust, genocide and state violence. And I want to tell whoever is willing to listen that what’s happening now in Gaza is a genocide. A year ago when October 7th happened, like all Israelis I was in shock. It was a war crime and a crime against humanity. 1200 people - more than 800 of them civilians - were killed in one day. Children and the elderly were among those taken hostage. Communities were destroyed. It was outrageous, traumatizing, personal. Like most Israelis, I know people who were killed, who lost loved ones or whose loved ones were taken hostage. But immediately afterwards came Israel’s response and within weeks thousands of civilians were killed in Gaza. It took me some time to digest what was unfolding before my eyes. It was agonizing to confront that reality. I was reluctant to call it a genocide. But if you read Raphael Lemkin – the Jewish-Polish legal scholar who coined the term ‘genocide’ and was the major driving force behind the 1948 United Nations Genocide Convention – what is happening in Gaza now is exactly what he had in mind when he spoke about genocide. It does not need to look like the Holocaust to be a genocide. Each genocide looks different and not all involve killing of millions or the entire group. The United Nations Genocide Convention explicitly asserts that genocide is the act of deliberately destroying a group in whole or in part. Those are the words. But there does need to be a clear intent. And indeed, there are clear indications of intent to destroy Gaza: Israel’s leaders - including the prime minister and the minister of defence - and many high-ranking military officers, media personalities, rabbis, as well as ordinary soldiers were very open about what they wanted to achieve. There were countless documented incitements to turn the whole of Gaza into rubble and claims that there are no innocent people living there. A radical atmosphere of dehumanization of the Palestinians prevails in Israeli society to an extent that I can’t remember in my 58 years of living here. Now that vision has been enacted. Tens of thousands of innocent children, women and men have been killed. Over a hundred thousand were wounded. There is a near total destruction of infrastructure, intentional starvation and blocking of humanitarian aid. There are mass graves and reliable testimony of summary executions. Children that were shot by snipers. All the universities and almost all hospitals are gone. Almost all the population is displaced. There have been numerous bombings of civilians in so-called ‘safe zones’. Gaza does not exist anymore. It is completely destroyed. Thus, the outcome fits perfectly with the stated intentions of Israel’s leadership. Lemkin - that scholar who coined the term ‘genocide’ - described two phases of a genocide. The first is the destruction of the annihilated group and the second is what he called ‘imposition of the national pattern’ of the perpetrator. We are now witnessing the second phase as Israel prepares ethnically cleansed areas for Israeli settlements. And therefore, I have come to the conclusion that this is exactly what a genocide looks like. We don’t teach about genocides in order to realize it retrospectively. We teach about it in order to prevent it and to stop it. But like in every other case of genocide in history right now we have mass denial. Both here in Israel and around the world. But reality cannot be denied. So yes, it is a genocide. And once you come to this conclusion you cannot remain silent.” - Statement to Led By Donkeys, December 2024 - Photo: Parliament Square, London, 8.40am, 4th December 2024
