“Some liberals call her a Kremlin stooge”??? What? Some? Some??? Hey, @nytimes, are you out of your mind? Putin is her fucking godfather (like in literal “Christian” sense), her mother is a state senator in Russia and Sobchak herself is flesh and blood of “Putin’s new elite” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ukrainian refugees are now being arrested by ICE agents who say they “support russia.” A Ukrainian father, Dmytro Kulyk, escaped russian drone and missile attacks back home, only to be grabbed by a group of ICE agents in a Walmart parking lot in Minneapolis. “I hoped I would find peace in America. I’ve done everything the government required. I don’t understand why I am behind bars,” Dmytro told The Daily Beast. “I came to America to escape the war, to pray in church, and to work hard.” Dmytro was picking up an order at Walmart when he found himself surrounded by immigration agents. He had been working as a delivery driver to make ends meet, while also supporting his family by doing roofing work. Dmytro legally entered the U.S. in late 2023 along with his 38-year-old wife and their daughter, who is now 5. The family was sponsored by U.S. citizens as part of the Uniting for Ukraine program, established in April 2022 to allow Ukrainians fleeing russia’s war to live and work in the U.S. on humanitarian parole. Once the initial two-year parole period expires, participants can apply for re-parole to remain in the country longer. That’s exactly what Dmytro did. His wife’s and daughter’s applications were approved, but his remains pending. He said he was putting groceries into his car when he was approached by three ICE agents: “I explained to the ICE officers that the war was killing people, that my wife had a disability, that we had escaped violence and terrorism. But one of them began to laugh. I asked why he was laughing, and I was told that he was pro-russian and wanted russia to win the war.” Dmytro cannot understand why he has been treated like a criminal. He did everything by the book, paid taxes, submitted his immigration paperwork on time, and worked multiple jobs to take care of his family. He has no criminal record. Yet ICE arrested him, and now he faces deportation to a war-torn country. This is the new reality of Trump’s America. An America I hardly recognize anymore. Source: The Daily Beast

My part time hobby (when an opportunity strikes) in Poland is making russians uncomfortable by asking them if they are Ukrainian and watching them try to wiggle their way out of having to say “no I’m russian”. 😁

@Anna_Devinora Too often. They often say “yes” because they think I’m American. I start speaking Ukrainian really fast. It gets real awkward real fast 😁

The best thing I saw in Poland yet: BP gas station off a highway to Warsaw. 2am. An older British gentleman confidently hands Hryvnias to the cashier to pay for gas. She stares at him in confusion. “Oh right. We are in Poland. My bad.”

If you are driving from Kyiv towards the western border through Zhytomyr today, please be extremely careful 50km from the beltway. There are strips of black ice, snow, potholes, and all of the above at once. I almost ended up in a real bad accident while driving at 60 kmh when my car hit black ice and started spinning. I managed to regain control, literally miraculously. So. Let this be a cautionary tale.

Gotta love staring into the abyss at 5am unable to fall asleep because the bomb shelter wasn’t quite the most alluring place to sleep. Oh and my entire building is shaking because of 3 massive generators in our backyard that power a fish market. I can’t even make this up: another air raid came on as I was typing this tweet.

Here is a brain fuck for you. Kyiv is being bombed by ballistics as we speak. I’m on my friend’s couch in NYC frantically following the news. Her upstairs neighbors are likely moving furniture around and produce a lot of thuds. Because I’m very aware of all of the missiles targeting Kyiv, I shake with every thud. You can leave a war zone, but it won’t leave you.

Interesting note for all of the VPN debates. When my VPN was on 5 min ago, I didn’t even have the option of looking this info up. I turned it off. Now I can. My VPN is off but it still shows my location as United States. I will check back in a bit to see if it adjusts back to Ukraine. P.s. yes my App Store is American and this account was created in the US. I came home in 2023 after about 14 years in the US.

Let's quickly recap the past three hours: Republican and Democratic Senators say Rubio told them the 28 point plan was a Russian document, not an American plan. State Department says the Senators are lying. What a complete mess.
