Every year my students final machine learning project includes a prompt about how their model could potentially cause harm in the world (and how it could support communities too!) I'm so proud of them 😭🌈💖 As I grade I'll put some examples here

They think the answer is money but the answer is each other.

Genuinely wondering at this point what is going on... why is no one in AI policy seeing anything beyond a few years in the past? It's like minds were wiped clean on anything that happened before 2020. It's completely unproductive & I constantly see people re-inventing the wheel.

@wobbrockjo I love computing education because we get to shape our future and our present, and bring social responsibility into technical spaces. I also just LOVE watching students light up when they feel included, empowered, and confident. 💡 it’s a joy to bring both fun and justice to AI

Hi 💖 my partner died this week. I am barely on Twitter so perhaps no one will see this, but I am looking for advice on how to finish a PhD while experiencing heartbreak, trauma, grief, and the unimaginable. I want to finish, I’m so excited to finish, he always called me Dr Yim.
