The whole of University of Ilorin permanent site descended into riot and chaos in 2002 because Coca-Cola increased its price to N25. Students went on a rampage and Coca-Cola had to build the SUG relaxation spot. Coke and toast bread on walkway was for big boys and girls. Regular girls bought pure water, they would put a straw in the pure water sachet to look premium. In the hostel, "na baba abeg you get pure water for room" if you gave out a sachet of pure water, it was generosity at its peak. Boys would hide pure water sachet under their beds. Accommodation was N1,370 and students missed deadlines to pay. Some students would fight for accommodation slot just to resell at N3,000. That N3,000 still came with a payment plan of 6 months 😃😃. Cab fare from school to Tanke was N30 or N40. Students would stand by the road side under the hot sun begging for "lift". Fuel was N26 per litre but boys car dey empty tank consistently and that was even luxury. I remember driving to school, once I got past Sanrab na to put the gear in neutral to take me to Chapel sec school. Then climb Oke odo by Bekadims, neutral again to take me to school gate, fire till university quarters, down shift while approaching the bridge then neutral all the way. N300 fuel must last for a week. Regular Benz 230E injector wey dey drink fuel like mad.

After 28 years, sadly my time at Opta has come to an end. Through seven different owners, some good, some bad, I've helped the companies grow the brand from start up to global behemoth and I've been very lucky to have a job that was also my hobby.

Couldn't agree more.... Didn't recognise that team today. No urgency, no drive ... Played like there is nothing at stake

🚨🗣️ Thierry Henry on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal defeat to AFC Bournemouth: “Look, I’m going to say it how it is because people don’t like to hear the truth when it’s about Arsenal. This team is too comfortable. Too comfortable. You can’t be in a title race and play like you’re protecting something instead of going to take it. I’ve defended Mikel Arteta many times, but today… I didn’t recognize that team. Where is the urgency? Where is the killer instinct? You’re playing AFC Bournemouth, no disrespect, and you’re moving the ball like you’re 3-0 up already. That’s arrogance, not control. And this is the problem, it’s not the first time. When it matters, they hesitate. They overthink. They try to play the ‘perfect’ football instead of winning ugly. Champions don’t do that. I’ve been there, sometimes you have to suffer, sometimes you have to be nasty. I don’t see that edge in this team. People will talk tactics, substitutions, whatever… but for me it’s mentality. If you keep dropping points like this, don’t talk to me about the title. You’re giving it away. Again. And if Mikel Arteta doesn’t change something quickly, whether it’s the approach, the attitude, or even making big decisions on players, then yes, they will bottle it. And I don’t say that lightly… but we’ve seen this movie before. At some point, you have to stop saying ‘we’re close’ and actually do it. Right now? They’re not doing it.”

This stat is so maddening. 9pts clear at the top of the League and we do this? I spent most of the game furiously shouting ‘FORWARD!’ at players who couldn’t hear me. Arteta doesn’t like being told to release the handbrake, but he’s got to release the bloody handbrake.

David Raya received a whooping 38 passes today against Bournemouth 😳 Arsenal waste so much time unnecessarily recycling the ball instead of moving it forward.

@DrJoeAbah I dislike early kickoffs but the good thing is we are playing at home & Arteta has told us come with lunch and dinner. “We die there”

Tomorrow, we bury the Frankenstein monster of Bournemouth. Frankenstein author Mary Shelley is buried at St Peter's Church in Bournemouth town center, alongside the calcified heart of her husband, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. This information doesn’t improve security in Nigeria but a win tomorrow will improve Arsenal’s chances of finally winning the League. #ARSBOU

@SirLeoBDasilva In Primary school, we are too young to understand some things . It was mainly reading your books and going home to mummy and daddy . In Secondary school, I think that was more of our formative years. We could start making decisions on our own and be influenced by our peers

Making friends early in life is important. If you make friends in Primary school, this is probably one of the best times. If you are lucky you both grow up with the same values. Secondary school is second best at least before people turn 14-18. Uni is where you have to be careful. Most people have already chosen the path they want to follow in life. Some good and some bad. If you are lucky you can make work friends or that level. Everyone already knows what they want so most friendships at this point is more about benefits. There are always exceptions.
