“My new book is about growing up in an era of change, about our late Soviet childhood. The cover was drawn by the talented artist Nina Kuzmina — it captures the 80s atmosphere perfectly, down to the classic Tatra tram that’s slowly disappearing from our cities.” -@mariasdanilova
@doge_eth_gov Stop these piecemeal road projects that provide the illusion of being “cheap” in yearly budgets yet can be outrageously expensive over the 5 or 10 years in aggregate.
I'm sincerely rooting for Prez Trump's effort to turn U.S. deficit into surplus and perhaps pay off our national debt. But are we sure that we want wealthy aliens to become legal U.S. residents or citizens?
How many Qatari Sheikhs will buy US citizenship for $5 million? How many Iranian IRGC officers will buy US citizenship? How many Russian oligarchs? How many Chinese princelings?
And once these wealthy people are legal alien residents or citizens, they can legally donate to campaigns and fund super PACs, which they can use to undermine U.S. democracy and national interests.
What if enough wealthy Qatari and Iranian Islamists sponsor enough Members of Congress to amend our U.S. foreign and defense policies and turn them against our own national interests, those of our allies, and in favor of our opponents like Iran, Qatar, and even Hezbollah and Hamas.
I understand that the government cannot live in debt forever. But a government is designed to protect our national interests on our own tax dime, not as a profit-making machine.
Getting foreigners to fund our government while we cut our own taxes will be akin to shipping our jobs overseas. The $5m Gold Card smells like a national security disaster-in-the-making.

🚨 TRUMP'S $5 MILLION GOLD CARD BOMBSHELL:
America is selling a path to citizenship. This changes everything.
KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE OVAL OFFICE:
- $5 million flat fee. No business investment, no job quotas—just cash to the government. Trump says it’s a golden opportunity to shrink the national debt
- No Congress needed. Trump claims it’s all legal, sidestepping Capitol Hill. Planned roll out over the next 2 weeks.
- Not EB-5 2.0. The old program demanded 10 jobs per investor. This is pay-to-play residency, pure and simple.
- Open to all takers. Trump grinned about Russian oligarchs: “I know some nice ones. They can afford it.” Vetting is promised, but details to be finalised.
- Huge economic bet. He’s counting on wealthy buyers to move to the US and spend big, pay taxes, and hire people.
Much more than just another visa program...this is America stamping their authority in the global race to attract the wealthy.
Meanwhile, other countries reject and incentivise them to leave.
Think about it:
The old EB-5 demanded $1.8M and 10 jobs. Complex business plans. Years of compliance. A maze of regulations.
Now? Write a check for $5M. That's it.
What’s really at play here:
Europe’s strangling its elite—France’s wealth tax, Germany’s energy costs, the EU’s AI lag. Mario Draghi just warned they’re stagnating while the world moves on.
Trump’s betting the US can scoop up what Europe’s losing: the rich, the restless, the ready-to-spend.
This is America saying, “We’re the new haven.”
The real question isn't whether this will work.
The question is: How will the world respond? All eyes on Europe...
What's your take on this?
No group in America pays more in taxes than W-2 employees with a high salary
But, that doesn't mean you can't optimize it to pay less!
Here are my 10 favorite strategies for employees to pay less in taxes in 2025:

There’s three truths I stand on.
1. God is real.
2. Innovation will explode when we expand access to capital to all, venture capital will wonder why we waited so long.
3. Kobe Bean Bryant is the greatest basketball player to ever exist.
