Joe, the list of electors contains additional sensitive information, such as Voter ID Number, which telephone books don’t.
Aside from from that, this list is strictly prohibited from public use. It’s not negotiable.

Also, implement the legislative changes proposed by Elections Alberta, aimed at strengthening the office, transparency and fairness of elections.

We are aware of the situation involving a potential data breach of electors’ personal information. Protecting the personal information of Albertans is of the utmost importance, and those responsible should be held accountable under the law. We understand both Elections Alberta and the RCMP are looking into this matter thoroughly and we will wait for the results of those investigations before commenting further and assessing whether any future legislative changes need to be considered.
