What kind of world are we leaving behind? Unfortunately, it is a world distorted by war and war-like language. This pollution of reason comes from the geopolitical sphere and invades every social relationship. Any simplification that creates enemies must be corrected, especially in universities, through complexity of thought and wise exercise of memory.

Premier of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen posted the following on Facebook: 🇬🇱 Greenland is not for sale 🇬🇱 It should not be necessary to say so. But apparently it is. A foreign individual is offering money in exchange for a signature to incorporate Greenland into another country. That is not only deeply concerning. It is disgraceful. This is not how you treat a people. And this is not how you speak about a country. We are a democratic society. Our future will not be negotiated in a taxi. And it will not be bought with money. I strongly condemn this kind of behavior. And I expect the respect that every country is entitled to to be shown internationally. Decisions about our country are made by us alone. That should be easy to understand.

Levelet kaptam Mészáros Lőrinctől. Vagyis Várkonyi Andreától. Vagyis inkább ügyvédektől. A levél egyszerre könyörgés és fenyegetőzés. Egyikre sincs szükség. Ugyanezt tudom elmondani Balásy Gyula és a Lounge Event Kft. nevű propagandagyár kapcsán is, amely kapcsán nem véletlenül Rogán Antal tárgyal az eladásról és nem a hivatalos tulajdonos… Mészáros Lőrincnek azt tudom továbbá üzenni, hogy a helyében nem leveleket íratnék ügyvédekkel, hanem felkészülnék a Nemzeti Vagyonvisszaszerzési és Védelmi Hivatalnál sorra kerülő meghallgatásokra. Remélem, tudtam segíteni.

Anyone who brings mass murderers to the table instead of bringing them to justice has lost all moral legitimacy and is spitting on the graves of the victims.

He is not fit to serve as a moral authority or a role model. Following the formation of the new government, Tamás Sulyok must leave office immediately.

APPLEBAUM: Victor Orbán has been in charge of Hungary for 16 years. He has used his power as a democratically elected leader to take over the institutions of the state, judiciary, media, bureaucracy, universities. Thanks to that and unbelievably high level of corruption, Hungary is now one of the poorest and most corrupt countries in EU, with major problems in healthcare and education. Yet in the campaign he’s not talking about any of that. Instead, he’s pushing mythical fantasy that Ukrainians are going to invade Hungary to create fear. He’s trailing in the polls by about 20%. The only question is whether he will halt the election, change the result, or create some kind of outrage.
