We're excited to welcome Suraj back to Yondu for another internship, this time in person! Since his last internship with us, Suraj has been pursuing his Master's at Tsinghua University, conducting research in embodied AI, and co-authoring a paper at IROS, one of the leading robotics conferences. He's already made great contributions to our robot learning work, and we're excited to have him back on the team. He's also the co-author of Robo-engine. We hope this internship is a great learning experience and another opportunity to build robots that have real-world impact. Welcome back, Suraj!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Trossen office and getting an early preview of their latest hardware. We recorded two podcasts with their founder, Matt, and president, Anish, that I can't wait to share with everyone. We discussed our aligned visions for the future of robotics, one built around point solutions rather than fully humanoid form factors in industry. We talked about the power of commoditized hardware paired with robot foundation models and how to turn that power into real-world solutions.

We’re excited to be attending IMPRINT on June 3 in San Francisco! This is exactly the future we’re building at Yondu. We believe the biggest impact of AI will come when it can perform useful work in the real world. Most general-purpose robots are stuck in the lab, stationary, or automating dummy tasks that provide little to no value. Yondu is the first company to deploy humanoids for dexterous, mobile tasks like bin-picking for 3PLs. This is normal for us. We are operating every single day, picking hundreds of orders without making mistakes. We integrate directly with ShipHero. Of all the applications in warehousing, this is one of the most labor-intensive and costly. We are the only company in the world that can automate this task with general-purpose robots.
