Child soldiers kind of make sense because when I was 12 - 16 I would very easily have enlisted with an ideologically motivated paramilitary group

@skupor you people say this stuff all the time then proceed to hire from the same handful of universities.

This is truly insane, and it should be front page news across America.  Denmark secretly deployed soldiers to Greenland prepared to blow up airport runways to stop a U.S. invasion. They brought blood supplies to treat the wounded. France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden quietly coordinated against us. This was not a drill. This was our closest allies preparing to fight Americans. Let that sink in. NATO allies. Countries whose soldiers have fought and died alongside ours for decades. They looked at this president and decided they had to prepare for the worst. Fewer allies does not make America great. It makes us more isolated, more vulnerable, and it hands Russia and China exactly what they have always wanted: an America abandoned by its friends. The American people deserve to know how badly this president has damaged our standing in the world.  bbc.com/news/articles/…

Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.

@yducknow And then you get told to work on your delivery because all your boomer coworkers can’t think fast and have trouble keeping up with a normal paced conversation.

Today I'm excited to introduce Hark, a new artificial intelligence lab building the most advanced, personal intelligence in the world We've been in stealth for 8 months, assembling one of the greatest AI and hardware teams on the planet I want to explain why I started Hark and what we're focused on I've spent the last 3 years working on the hardest AI challenge imaginable: giving AI a humanoid body. On the digital side, I've been using all the existing LLM chatbots - and I have to say, they feel incredibly dumb to me AGI, in the limit, should feel like a sci-fi movie. It should be able to listen and talk. It should have persistent memory and be highly personalized. It should see and touch the world. But we're far from this today We are crafting a new interface to AGI. Intelligence that lets you offload your mental workload into a system that begins to think like you and sometimes ahead of you We started Hark with one goal: build the world's most advanced personal intelligence - paired with next-generation hardware designed to serve as a universal interface between humans and machines hark.com

@KaiSchwemmer Don’t be a panican. Iran doesn’t even control its own airspace. Just a bunch of old stubborn men negotiating for deals so they could avoid going out like Gaddafi once the government changes so might take a couple more weeks.

What’s the biggest issue right now? The Iran war. We’re at week 4/5 of the war and an exit anytime soon seems less likely everyday. This is a big blot on the resumes of everyone who let this happen, don’t forget.

@nikitabier @jonatanpallesen Thank you!! Let’s get people to focus on stuff far closer to home. the world is a massive place it would be cool to see unique insights from a small village in France or wherever rather than hearing their take on Iowa City’s municipal elections.

For a random person signing up in France: Their very first timeline will likely include Trump ragebait and Silicon Valley chatter. We can’t continue to incentivize the same kind of posts forever—and not try to expand our inventory. The network will never grow. It will proceed to be a monoculture with a handful of countries rationally spamming the replies of those posts to get $30/week.

Content that @nikitabier doesn't like: Europeans from small countries posting about science or global trends, or making original content. Content @nikitabier loves: An American posting a screenshot from instagram of a hot girl.

@emanueledpt Then post in Italian and get your countrymen caught up. It’s exhausting to see everyone in the world speak about the US. You people have your own problems and often they are way worse, go focus on life closer to home. Unfortunately the change was paused tho.
