Why so many women feel dismissed in healthcare.
I have spoken to over 50+ women in the last few months & for most of them it was the dismissal.
Normalizing or dismissing the severity of symptoms-> delaying diagnosis by years! YEARS.
Being dismissed at the clinic - often leading to generic advice, or being judged or feeling unsafe to discuss.
When a system designed to help women, is somehow causing more harm?
Over 70% of women who have PCOS are not diagnosed
Over 90% of women with endometriosis are not diagnosed. And the ones diagnosed took 7-8 years.
In a survey, it was found only 9.1% women understood about their condition post-diagnosis.
If this is the reality, something needs to change
