@yourguycharles

I used to write below average pieces about basketball, now I just tweet below average thoughts about it.

One unfair criticism of Luka is that he always looks mad or like he’s about to cry. That’s just how white people look after exercising. Every time I leave the gym, that’s exactly what I look like. But I guess I do cry a lot in the gym, so maybe that’s why.

Marion was an S-tier defender and for his size, his statistical markers and totals are insane. He joined Hakeem Olajuwon, Karl Malone and Kevin Garnett as the only players in NBA history with at least 16,000 points, 9,000 rebounds, 1,500 steals and 1,000 blocks

Steve Nash getting 2 MVPs ran a pick a roll with Amare not Marion No matter how much you love and are attached to the 2011 Mavs championship, Amare was a better player than Marion . Marion himself will tell you that . Signed a Mavs Fan for 32yrs 🤣🤷🏾

With all the Kevin Love talk recently, I think the conversations would be much different had the Wolves not drafted Rubio and Flynn in the same draft and if Beasley panned out. He’s seen as an empty stats guy, but those Wolves teams were so poorly built and managed.

@Domo8186 @OBtoojiveforyou Oh okay. I didn’t realize someone who was a better passer, shooter, and more efficient than a 26/12/4 on 45/37/82 was viewed poorly on this app.

@AdamRiggs6 Yeah I truly don’t think people understand the gravity of what he accomplished. Being able to put together so many 50 win seasons in that West, with his team, is crazy.

@yourguycharles I will die on the hill that Dirk was better than even he gets credit for. He is the absolute best floor raiser in the history of basketball and did more with less talent around him than nearly anybody.

I recently went to the Texas Legands game for the first time with my kids. They were offering free tickets on a first come, first serve basis. It was a ton of fun. We got see Miles Kelly go off, and every seat in the house was great. Do the Frisco Roughriders do this too???

@BleacherReport It’s definitely a lot easier when you are like the 4th option at best playing alongside the greatest player on the planet.

Mario Chalmers says winning the NBA Finals was easier than winning the NCAA Tournament 👀 Chalmers is a 2x NBA Champion with the Miami Heat and won the 2008 National Championship with the Kansas Jayhawks 🔥

@aakashgupta I’d rather have a bare lot and plant my own. Chose my own trees, types, sizes and locations and 10 years/ 15 trees later I have a great yard, big trees for shade, spring flowering for colour, etc all in the right place. How about an arborist as a service for each new owner?

Let me explain exactly why every new subdivision in America looks like the top photo, because the math is wild. A mature tree increases a home's value by 7 to 19 percent. On a $400,000 house, that's $28,000 to $76,000. A single shade tree produces the cooling equivalent of ten room-size air conditioners running 20 hours a day. One tree on the west side of a house cuts energy bills by 12 percent within 15 years. The bottom photo is worth more, costs less to live in, and sells faster. This has been documented by the University of Washington, Clemson, Michigan State, and the USDA. The data is not in dispute. Removing those trees saves the builder roughly $5,000 per lot. Concrete trucks need twice the dripline radius of every standing tree. Utility trenches need flat ground. A bulldozer flattens 200 lots in an afternoon. Preserving trees adds weeks and thousands per home. So the developer pockets $5,000 in savings and the buyer eats $50,000 in lost value for the next two decades. The person making the decision and the person paying for it have never been in the same room. The Woodlands, Texas is the proof of what happens when they are. George Mitchell bought 28,000 acres of Houston timberland in 1974 and preserved 28% as permanent green space. He forced McDonald's to build behind the tree canopy. That McDonald's became one of the highest-volume locations in Texas. The first office building, designed to reflect the surrounding forest so you couldn't see it from the street, leased completely. The Woodlands median home price today: $615,000. Katy, a comparable Houston suburb that clear-cut: $375,000. Named #1 community to live in America two years running. Fifty years of data. The trees are worth more than removing them saves. Developers clear-cut anyway because they sell the house once and leave. You live in it for 30 years.
