No one is "benefiting" in that they're all treated the same, but offensive design will absolutely impact who gets more assists from this type of counting.
Since Denver runs a lot of offense through Jokic, it's natural he'd likely be one of the bigger "benefiters" from counting assists like this.
Doesn't really mean a whole lot, other than just understanding it when comparing to past stat numbers.

@HPbasketball You know deep down Jokic has consistently benefitted from it far more than every other player. A dribble handoff where the guy gets the ball 20+ ft from the rim then takes 3 dribbles and makes a contested shot is not what an assist was ever meant to represent.
