Stating off the bat that PM security is not negotiable - if the convoys can safely be reduced now - why did they grow to be so big to begin with? Shouldn't they always be prudent when spending taxpayer money?
Sharad Dubey@Sharad9Dubey

Sources to @ndtv -PM Modi has directed that the number of vehicles in his convoy be halved. -Instructions regarding this have been issued to the SPG. -PM also stated that the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in the convoy should be increased. -However, he specified that no new vehicles should be purchased for this purpose. -The SPG has already begun implementing these directives. -Additionally, steps are being taken to ensure that there is no compromise on the mandatory security guidelines stipulated in the 'Blue Book.' -Other ministries are also set to undertake various initiatives aimed at conserving fuel.

Decided to be a good citizen. Inspired by PM’s call for austerity, left the car at home. Auto to the Metro station: ₹30. Metro ticket: ₹30. Feeder bus for the last stretch: ₹20. Total one way: ₹80. Return journey: another ₹80. Grand daily total: ₹160. My car gives 14 kilometres to a litre. Office is 7 kilometres from home. Roughly ₹100 a day, door to door, including the petrol and the quiet dignity of arriving without fuss. Public transport, in other words, costs me ₹60 more than driving myself. Per day. In a city with a functioning Metro. This is what we call last-mile connectivity gap — the small, unglamorous gap between the grand infrastructure and your actual front door. Austerity, apparently, is for the commuter alone. The PM travels by motorcade. The last I checked.

#PSA Per the new IT Act, a declaration is now mandatory before travelling abroad. Seems most are unaware of this (just like I was until an email from my CA's office). Form 156 for those with PAN and form 157 for those without. incometaxindia.gov.in/documents/d/gu… 1/2

Forget all the noise, chatter, conspiracy theories etc. and just brace for some back breaking fuel price hikes. This is simply laying a foundation for that eventuality. ndtv.com/india-news/wfh…

BMC says "compensatory tree plantation for Mumbai's mega projects will now be outside Mumbai." I am getting convinced that environmentalists are being proven right in fighting against infrastructure. They have not made it a environment vs infrastructure clash. The State has.

@pnqiad Agreed. Power ensures money for the coterie. Development facilitates income for the people. Why would anyone want that.
