We are witnessing with despair the iniquitous use of hunger as a weapon of war. Burning crops, stealing livestock, and blocking aid are tactics increasingly used by armed militias. As civilians languish in misery, political elites grow fat with impunity. It is time to sanction these abuses and hold accountable those who are responsible for it.

There’s also a clear mandate for change. We need to build more affordable housing, improve basic services like waste management, cut red tape for creative and cultural endeavours, and bring back genuine consultation with community. We've got work to do!!

Votes are still being counted, but it’s clear the Clover Moore team will lose majority control for the first time in 20 years. This means Council will be more representative, we’ll have proper debate and new ideas won’t be so readily shot down. This is a win for the community!

The escalators and lift at Railway Square have been out of order for more than 3 years. The maintenance and repair of vital accessibility infrastructure should be a top priority. We need a Sydney that is #accessible for all.

This morning our friendly volunteers handing out flyers at Green Square were moved on by security. Moments later, Team Clover set up right where we had been and were allowed to stay. When I spoke to security, I was dismissed and told "She own this space!"
