@joshieonfilm still angry about this. nobody deserves that many trophies for giving the same performance every year. So much rich work unrewarded for repetition's sake (but yes JLD was fabulous on that show.)

Wonderful Town (2004) with Donna Murphy. Important moments include Donna’s INSANE versatility throughout, the ensembles reaction to Donna’s vocals at :9, everything happening from :30-1:01 🤯, the choreography at 1:10 on, Donna’s last note, and Bernstein’s music in general (9/11)

Tony Award performances have always been huge moments of culture for me. In honor of the Tony Awards on Sunday, I wanted to share some of my favorite performances that aren’t as talked about as “And I’m Telling You” or “Rose’s Turn”, but absolutely still SLAP. (0/11)

@GrossmanMax This was the first Tonys ceremony I watched on television. I watched this number so many times I still know it by heart.

Baby (1984) with Liz Callaway, Catherine Cox, and Beth Fowler. Important moments include Beth bouncing that basketball at :31, Liz’s movement on “I want a Learjet” at :49, the leg crosses at :59c, and Liz’s belt at 1:01. (8/11)
