Everything looks good on paper… Harvest is ready. Demand is there. Then somehow,by the time it reaches processing, it’s a different story. Quality drops. Time is lost. Value disappears. It’s not one problem. It’s the chain.

Without these in place, volatility remain, and investors aren’t seeing opportunity, they’re pricing in risk.

2) Storage + staggered sales; Storage systems allow farmers to avoid forced selling during harvest peaks, which is when prices crash the most. 3) Transparent pricing systems: Clear, data-backed pricing reduces middlemen distortion and builds trust across the value chain.

Price stability at farm-gate isn’t solved by one fix,it’s structural. It comes down to a few core levers: 1) Aggregation + guaranteed offtake: Processors must anchor real, predictable demand so farmers aren’t exposed to fragmented, volatile spot markets.

@yucachain How can we bring price stability to cassava farm gates? That's a recurring and current problem, that keeps driving serious investors from investing.

the impact becomes even stronger across the entire value chain. At YucaChain, we see this as building resilience across the entire value chain, not just farming.

Resilience in cassava production is not optional, it’s necessary. Disease-resistant cassava varieties are one of the most practical tools farmers can adopt to protect yield, stabilize income, and strengthen food systems. When combined with good agronomic practices.
Munezero Cedric@MunezeroCedk

Cassava has been a true game changer for many farmers it feeds families and brings steady income, even in difficult seasons. But in recent years, cassava diseases have become a big problem. Many farmers are losing yields because of these diseases, affecting both food and income. One important solution is enhanced (improved) cassava varieties that are made to resist these diseases. These are crops developed by scientists to stay strong, produce well, and reduce losses. Some farmers worry when they hear the word “biotech,” thinking it might be harmful. But in simple terms, biotech crops are just improved crops that have been carefully developed and tested to be safe for people and the environment. They help plants fight diseases naturally and grow better. Using disease-resistant cassava means: ✔️ Higher yields ✔️ Less crop loss ✔️ More income for farmers ✔️ Better food security Farmers deserve solutions that work. With the right information and improved planting materials, cassava can continue to change lives for the better. Let’s share knowledge and support each other. Have you experienced cassava diseases or tried improved varieties? Share your thought

@Agronomme_ Cassava isn’t just a crop, it’s an ecosystem. The real opportunity isn’t only in growing it, but in how it’s processed, moved, and sold. Production is rising. Coordination is not. That’s where the next level of profit is.

Why Every Farmer Should Consider Growing Cassava Cassava is often underestimated, yet it is one of the most strategic crops for both food security and income. Here’s why it deserves serious attention: 1. Strong Profit Potential When well managed, cassava can generate higher returns than many staple crops like maize, especially due to its multiple uses and market demand. 2. Ready and Expanding Market Cassava is easy to sell. It is used for: • Food (fresh roots, flour, chips) • Animal feed • Industrial products like starch, adhesives, and even brewing This creates both local and industrial demand. 3. Drought Tolerance Cassava performs better than many crops under dry conditions, making it a reliable option in areas with unpredictable rainfall. 4. Flexible Harvesting and Storage Unlike many crops, cassava can stay in the ground after maturity and be harvested when needed. This reduces post-harvest losses and gives farmers flexibility. 5. Relatively Low Input Requirements Cassava can grow in moderate soils and does not demand heavy inputs like some crops. However, good practices still improve yields significantly. 6. Adaptability It can grow in a wide range of environments, making it accessible to many farmers across different regions. 7. Multiple Uses, Minimal Waste • Leaves can be used as vegetables • Stems are used for planting • Roots are processed or consumed Very little goes to waste. 8. Staple Food Crop Cassava is a major source of food in many African countries, ensuring consistent demand. 9. Simple Processing Options It can be processed using basic methods such as soaking, drying, and milling — making it accessible even for small-scale farmers. 10. Intercropping Friendly Cassava can be grown alongside crops like beans, groundnuts, and maize, helping farmers maximize land use. 11. High Energy Value Rich in carbohydrates, cassava is an important energy source for both humans and livestock. 12. Strong Commercial Potential With growing demand in food and industry, cassava is moving from subsistence farming to a serious agribusiness opportunity. Important Reality Check Cassava is not a “plant and forget” crop. Poor varieties, diseases like cassava mosaic, and weak management can still reduce yields. Cassava is not just a survival crop anymore. It is a business crop — if managed with the right mindset. Farmers who understand its value chain will not just grow cassava… they will profit from it.

You did everything right… Then the system failed you. Harvest ready. Processing messy. Value gone before it hits the market. If you’ve been here, you understand. YucaChain connects every step, from farm to market, with structure, visibility, and standards.

You don’t have a food shortage, you have a broken system. When transport fails, produce gets stranded. When costs rise, farmers absorb the loss. When infrastructure is weak, the entire value chain suffers. The crisis isn’t just production, it’s coordination.
AgricQueen@ChimdiIbeawuchi

We are in the middle of a Food Crisis! Farmers in rural areas cannot afford the Transportation cost of moving their Produce after harvest. When the cost of harvesting Farm Produce becomes too high, farmers have to rely on manual labor leading to drudgery and decline in health. Farmers are facing too many challenges from insecurity to poor infrastructure, we simply can’t catch a break.

The real problem in agriculture isn’t production,it’s coordination. Farmers, processors, buyers… all working, but not truly connected. No visibility. No coordination. No efficiency. We’re fixing the missing link.
