I wasn't arrested by the police. I was arrested by the school security and locked up till after the election was concluded.
My mugshot was taken and I landed at SDC, but I was found not guilty.
Funny enough, it was the DSA that had me arrested cos I was fighting that some Students from science have not voted while the DSA was saying voting for science has ended. My candidate was from science, and of course, science students came out en masse.
He was trying to intervene so that the School management preferred candidate could win the election.

Omo It hurts. Especially since I was loyal and I did a lot of dirty works underground so that the President candidate from our caucus could win. I was even arrested on election day. But they said they don't want the President and Gen Sec to come from science. So I had to let go. The funny thing is, the person they brought up didn't win. One guy (May He rest in peace) came out from the same science. With no leader. And He won! He used the hype of the President coming from science to secure the votes of science also, and he won over all the Leaders' consensus Gen Sec candidate. Moreover, He won the students populace over during the Manifesto cos the guy was just vibrating. Everybody loved him. That thing pain me Sha.... But that's politics.

I’m of the opinion that experiences like this shape people.
It hurts, but it reveals how things actually work beyond words and promises. Being sidelined or used teaches awareness and strategy. If learned from, it sharpens one’s leadership skills.

In AOCOED, I wanted to go for SUG Gen Sec, when we did meeting, Leader said "step down, we will give you Eco chairman in final year" Okay, I stepped down. Final year came, they said "we can't give you chairman again, but collect ECO special duty" I said okay. At the sitting, they started nominating, one leader came, he just stood outside. Before I knew it, Speaker said they are going for recess. By the time they reconvened, person wey suppose nominate me, nominated another person. They used me do the dirty works to bring two presidents consecutively, and when my reward time came, they came with excuses.... Politics ya werey gan. 😂
