The Performance Aemeath and Rover's VA Put in this scene.. was literally tearing my heart out.
Rover VA has improved so much since day 1 there's so much emotion in his voice.
+ This Scene was where I started bawling my eyes out 😭

It has been a few days after the update. And from what I see, I think people really underestimate Sigrika’s position in the 3.2 story of Wuthering Waves.
If you look closely, the 3.x arc so far mirrors what happened to Rover back in 1.x:
> He returns, without memory, to a place that once held great importance to his mission.
> All for the sake of reclaiming something he lost.
> All to rediscover his deep connection with someone significant in his life.
> And both times, he is forced to watch that person sacrifice themselves for the world and for him.
The difference is that this time, Rover was utterly powerless and failed to save her.
Rover’s mentality from 1.x, refined through 2.x and shown clearly in 3.1, is that he doesn't think of himself as a savior. He simply arrives at the right time, helps the right people, and becomes the hand that tips the balance of the battlefield, even if his presence is sometimes the deciding factor of life and death.
To him, victory means the survival of his companions and the peace that comes after great evils fall.
But there have been two times now where he almost threw everything away out of selfishness: the destruction of Tethyis’s core and the arrival of Aleph-1.
For Shorekeeper, he didn’t care what would happen to the Tethyis system as long as he could save her. For Aemeath, he nearly doomed Solaris-3 while trying to stop her from sealing the gate.
Twice, Rover acted selfishly for the two most important girls in his life. While Shorekeeper was ultimately saved as part of the Arbiter’s plan, Rover failed to save Aemeath. He could only watch as history and time itself sealed her fate beyond his reach.
For the first time in his new life, Rover experiences a devastating loss.

So how does this connect to Sigrika?
Looking at the 3.1 aftermath, while we do learn bits and pieces about Luuk, Rover’s true focus lies elsewhere. His impatience in searching for a way to save Aemeath is clear, and beneath the surface, his rage is barely contained, especially when he learns that the Grand Architect is responsible for her death.
After the 3.1 story, Rover is not in a good state, physically or mentally.
Initially, Rover was meant to keep Sigrika under close watch in case she was the target he was looking for. But as time went on, as they shared each other’s journeys and dispelled their doubts, something slowly began to rekindle within him.
All of Sigrika’s bond events follow the order and progression of the main quest, and the tone of each story reflects her mental state at that point in time. Through these stories, Rover learns about Sigrika’s hardships, her struggles, and the responsibilities she carries alone.
And somewhere along the way, Rover is reminded of who he is. Of what stands in front of him. Of what he still needs to do... as he sees himself in Sigrika.
The moment Sigrika breaks down in tears, believing herself to be responsible for the Dark Tide, Rover gently comforts her, sharing his own story to guide her forward. The burdens he carries may not be the same in scale, yet they weigh just as heavily as those on Sigrika’s shoulders. Weights that were never meant to be carried alone.
With Sigrika standing up against her own Dark Side, Rover is given something in return. A reflection of his own state of mind. In her struggle, he sees his own, and in her resolve, he rediscovers what he had begun to lose.
Do not burden yourself with expectations from others, nor from yourself… but never give up moving forward.
He failed to save Aemeath, but he cannot allow obsession or recklessness to take root in his heart.
Aemeath is still out there, waiting for him, and no matter how distant or impossible it may seem, he will find her. He will reach her. He will save her.
And that is why Sigrika feels so important to me. She was saved by Rover, and in return, she became the one who saved him.

I sang “Voyaging Star’s Farewell” in Japanese, with my own translyrics & voice acting for Aemeath! 💖
No “boop” in JP dub? Well, I voiced it & added it in myself!
この曲の日本語版を歌ってみました!歌詞の和訳と曲中のエイメスの声を両方担当しております✨
