@SymplyTonbra My perception is that Azula cared about Mai and Ty Lee, but she was raised to value control over connection. So even when the feelings were real, she treated them like tools because that’s all she knew. That’s why I think that the betrayal hurt her cause she did feel something.

Did Azula see Mai and Ty Lee as genuine friends or just tools?

@Danaturr @Skyzai07 @4vataruniverse Azula wasn’t born evil she was shaped that way. Zuko showed the same cruelty and even regressed just to win Ozai’s approval. The difference is Zuko was forced to see the world and grow, while Azula was rewarded for being ruthless and never given that chance.
