Actually during early years of Hindi film industry, when Hindu, Muslim women kept away as it was considered a taboo, it was Jewish females who took to acting.
The first female superstar Sulochana was from Baghdadi Jewish community, her real name was Ruby Myers. A sensation of her time, was awarded Dada Saheb Phalke in 1973.
Then you had Nadira more known for her vamp, negative roles. Along with Lalita Pawar, I guess the most hated lady on screen. Her real name was Florence Ezekie and was a Baghdadi Jew.
She got her breakthrough with Aan playing the rich arrogant heroine, and her role as Maya the rich socialite in Raj Kapoor's Shri 420 got her noticed. One of the highest paid actresses then in Bollywood , and one of the first Indian actress to own a Rolls-Royce.
There were some other Jewish actresses too but these two were the most famous.
